Can you imagine if this WAS the first Star Wars movie you had seen? Like 10 years down the road, someone runs across Rogue One on TV and watches it, thinking it's the first movie of the Star Wars story or something.

Who's the big black robot guy? What the heck is the force? What is going on here?

Tarkin and Leia were awful and were a huge distraction for me. The pilots were not noticeable.
Ha. Shows what you know. I watched the sequel to Rogue One last night! It's called: Rogue Two: A New Hope. I think the special effects really took a step back, except for some of the awesome GCI on Tatooine.

Have to admit Tarkin looked better too.

La La Land
Has anyone seen it in the IMax dome already? I've heard mixed reviews of watching movies on that screen. If it looks good, I might go there for a second watch.

I saw Interstellar there and was not impressed. Scenes ended being stretched because of the dome (plus all the spinning in space was hard to handle). We saw Rogue One at the Altoona theater on one of their XD screens (wall to wall screen, but digital projector not 70mm film like an IMAX) and it was awesome. Will definitely take advantage of that screen from now on.

That's my usual go-to as well. I saw it in regular digital on opening night... Might have to upgrade for round two.

Just got back from watching it a second time. Liked it even more. Movie about put me to sleep in the middle for some reason, but I left liking it much more than I did the first time. Still wasnt thrilled about the CGI, but it is what it is. Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus are BAMF's. Would really like to see a spin off movie of those 2. Might have to watch ANH tomorrow. Vader scene at the end was still badass as well.

Cool thanks for the intel... I did some quick research on this Rogue Two movie, and it turns out that my alternate ending of rest and relaxation on Alderaan would NOT have ended any better for them.

Except at least it's over quicker at Alderaan according to A New Hope. Alderaan getting torched in that scene looks like they just lit a helium balloon or something.

As long as it took for the bomb's effect to get to the main characters in Rogue 1, they had time to do a lot more than just hold hands.

Saw it last night night--really enjoyed it. CGI was well placed and didn't seem overly done. I've seen the Episodes 4, 5, and 6 with the added 90's CGI and it really didn't fit at all.
