I liked the Admiral Raddus character as a throwback to Ackbar.

I thought Ben Mendehlson did a great job as the Director even though I kept thinking of Bloodline.

K-2 was was almost getting to the Jar Jar annoying point for me.

I thought Saw Gerrera could have had a better ending.

Overall I loved the movie. I like that it was more "war based".
super duper disagree here. I thought he was one of the best parts of the movie. Jar jar had fart jokes and stepping in poop humor. K2's humor was actually clever.

Some fanboy made what he thought was his perfect order to watch the movies and this was it except one thing. He literally left out Phantom. And I can't really disagree. Phantom brings almost nothing to the table and if you ignore Phantom you get rid of the "midi-chlorians" which honestly was the dumbest ******* explanation for the force ever.
Imo it was one of the stupidest things put into the star wars universe.

Finally got to see it this afternoon, how fitting that the last scene was of CGI Carrie Fisher on the day she passed away...

The CGI characters btw didn't bother me at all, I thought they were pulled off pretty well.
Hammerhead Corvette for the win...in fact I enjoyed the space battle scene greatly.
Didn't care much for Forrest Whitaker's character/performance.
Vader being a bad ass was great
And finally Jyn over Rey in my opinion....

It's definitely my perspective then because enough people disagree. I'm also not the world's biggest fan of C3PO and R2D2, so I'm in the minority.

Can you imagine a version of the prequels that didn't suck? What a world.

The thing is, though, I wouldn't mind seeing a few of the prequel actors in the remake. Liam Neeson, now that he's a world-renowned badass, would kick ass and Qui-Gon. I always liked Ewen McGreggor as Obi-Wan, too. They had a lot of the pieces there to be successful. A lot of the suckitude came down to Anakin being poorly portrayed in all three films (but especially the first two), midi-chlorians and Jar-Jar/Gungans. Darth Maul was a cool villain, and the Episode I pod race was fun; the lightsaber battle between Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon is still the most epic one of the entire franchise.

Agree with a lot of this.

Duel of Fates is the best lightsaber battle of the franchise. Ewan needs to be Obi-Wan again. Need more Qui-Gon.

No Jar-Jar/Gungans and give Watto Subtitles, not an obvious Jewish sounding voice.

When it comes to the prequels, the things I didn't like about them were Hayden Christensen, the little boy Anikin, and some of the dialogue was just terrible which is on Lucas.

Other than that, I thought he overall story of the trilogy was good. People hated the politics/trade dispute of episode one, but I thought it was a good way to start the conflict in the while saga. Remember, that up until episode 1 there was peace, and that trade conflict eventually was the beginning of so far a century of instability.

The other thing he prequels were missing and this is a trilogy thing is that he original trilogy really had two story lines. You had the rebellion vs the empire with the non force users. Then you had the good vs evil battle between the Jedi and the sith. The prequels were too focused on the Jedi and sith, and didn't have that sells one conflict among the normal people in he galaxy.

In the prequels there was a lot of bad acting by good actors. I think a majority of that was dialogue driven and was poorly written to begin with. Lucas was too focused on making this for kids a la ROTJ w/Ewoks.

Jar Jar will go down in history as one of the worst characters in any movie of any kind. Just awful...

There could have been more depth and more 'darkness' in the prequels, especially end of 2 and all of 3. Too much love story! I know why Lucas did it but it was just pushed too much and poorly done.

As much as i dislike a lot of stuff from the prequels, I just can't see them redoing it.

That would be the ultimate slap in the face to George if Disney were to reboot 1-3 and I don't see that happening. Guess we just have to live with three movies with a good story arc but horrible acting and dialog and god awful comic relief.

Seriously. Go find the Anti-Cheese Edits of at least Episode 1. So much better just removing *** ***'s doofy dialogue.

When it comes to the prequels, I don't see Disney doing anything to those set of movies. They have put some comic books and novels during those times, but as for the movies, I think they just want to move on from them because they are pretty much hated by the fan base.

They may be better, but like others have said no way in hell will Disney do anything with them.

Just an FYI to everyone on here, I finally just created a Star Wars Extended Universe Thread to make one easy location to talk all things Star Wars, including Rogue One, rather than have all these individual movie threads. I'm not saying everyone needs to switch over there for all their future posts, but I do want to at least make people aware of it.

Sorry, the individual threads are the place for discussion of each topic. If I'm looking to discuss a specific movie, I don't want to have to wade through all the other topics. Keep them separated.

I could not agree more. When good actors can't save a movie, you have to realize the dialogue is just terrible. I actually didn't mind the plot-lines of the prequels, but it's tough to save a bad script.

One other pet peeve of mine from the prequels: every city is absolutely crawling with vehicles all of the time. While it's not necessarily unrealistic, all I could think of was "Hey look, an animator figured out how to CGI space traffic.....again"
