I think she's a good singer, but she's exceptionally good at writing hit songs, and she's undoubtedly attractive even if she's not everyone's cup of tea.
Ditto, not my type of music (although a few are ok) and not my type (more attracted to darker haired women, maybe because I'm blonde)...but it's silly to deny she's good at what she does and many millions of other people are obsessively in love with her look.
She is like the Seinfeld episode with scary looking/pretty girlfriend depending on the lighting. This applies to both her looks and music.
Some good posts on here about what she is....yes, she is good looking. yes, she is talented at writing and crooning about the human condition. BUT...like so many of the hollywood/Facebook axis of evil, she is not wise and does not deserve the adoration she gets. If you have daughters, I hope they can "like" her without worshiping here and might put true heros, like soldiers or doctors, into a relative perspective with her celebrity. She is not as politically active as her friends in the Malibu-Central Park universe....thank goodness. She does display the condition of narcissitic need and popular relativism. So refreshing to have people keep it real....and she has done anything but since she went Pop.

Some decent bubble gum pop music here and there...some very unimaginative lyrics but that's the standard for Top 40 radio forever.
The same people that get excited about her having hits on both generic pop stations and generic country pop stations are probably the same people that have had the same excitement for Hootie and Uncle Kracker and think Kenny Chesney is fascinating.

It was very clear VH1's Behind the Music had leveled off when they ran the Hootie episode.

How so? I'm being serious, relatively I don't see her anywhere near the same level as almost every single other pop icon.
This is kinda like Eric Church, except every song is about fightin', drinkin', or 'memberin.
She is good at knowing how to make a dollar. Her coming onto the country music was the start of the change to what we have today. So pretty much the beginning of the end of my listening to much country music.
