The one in Marshalltown I assume? It is the worst. The service and food. I've tried to give them a chance 2 or 3 times and every time the service is horrible and the food is worse. One time I just ordered nachos thinking they couldn't possibly **** that up... but they did. I don't know anyone that likes that place and have no idea how it's still open.
My son and I ate there when we had a break during a basketball tournament, everything about it sucked.

Taco John's, Indianola. Miss something on at least half of the times you go through the drive through.

The last time I went there, I checked before I left, went back to the window and they said they'd bring it right out. Several minutes later, I went inside and they had forgotten I was out there.

I can't eat at Applebees any more. Their food always seems "wet" - like it was cooked in the condensate from the freezer and nothing was thawed out. Their fries especially were always soggy - it never mattered which location I ate at, that was always the case.

In terms of messing up orders the Dairy Queen in north Ames has to have the lowest bar for employee hiring in the restaurant business.

I've never had good service at Brick City, probably 6 or 7 visits. About once a year we'll say **** it and try it again since the location is convenient only to be reminded why we don't go there. Actually sitting on $20 in gift cards they gave us from our last failed attempt, but nah.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that...

You wouldn't make much money off of me. Have you ever seen the movie Waiting? I know what waitor's and waitresses go through, so I hardly ever speak up unless it's beyond my threshold. I've had a little hair in my food (scoop that to the side), I've had missed orders, or stuff that was forgotten or food served cold. I am pretty laid back when it comes to that. But when I can cook a steak just as well or better, then I expect a person working at a steakhouse to know what medium is. Otherwise, I'm going to Rubes.

Cheesecake Factory. Went there with the family when the one at Jordan Creek first opened. For starters, we had three little girls and there was no kid's menu. When our food came out, and we started eating, the manager came over and asked how my wife's dish was. When she said fine he told us, "Well it's not what you ordered but it sounds like we're good." and walked (scurried) away. No offer to change it, no offering of a discount, nothing.

Just giving you ****. You just hear someone say that every time they say that they sent something back.

I used to try Long John Silver's once a year when revkah would be out of town. It didn't take long to remember why it was once a year.

KFC would fit there, too.

We've only gone once as a whole family to BWW. They forgot my order entirely, didn't even write it down. Now we drive by and I offer to go in and watch the family eat chicken. Otherwise, always had good experiences there.

Oh my god, you even do limeade wrong. STRAWBERRY.

I didn't know this was a thing! I'll try it next time we go, which is probs every time we're in Ankeny. I like strawberry everything better than cherry everything, so I bet this will be the same.

The chances of lukewarm and mushy are pretty high. If they could just make them somewhat close to a local bar tot, then it works for me. I don't get it.

Yeah, I don't think they make them fresh super-often? Their fries are okay, but, as much as I hate McDonald's, it's hard to beat their fast-food fries.

Super Dog. I just have never had a good hot dog there and refuse to believe the hype.

I didn't, either, but I know this one thing: Menus were made to be read. Many restaurants, even of the drive-thru variety, will make them available for customers to read.

One of the asian restaurants in town. Its like 95% humidity all year round. Water vapor covering the windows. Can't imagine the amount of mold in the ceiling and walls. roaches make apperances frequently. With how little they care about the front of the building i cant imagine what the back looks like.

I remember having multiple friends who just salivated when CF went in to Jordan Creek.

It's a huge menu of wildly mediocre food, IMO. It reminds me of Applebee's - they just don't do anything great, but people line up for that crap. It's certainly not worth waiting for 2 hours to even get seated.

Culvers- Iowa City/Coralville

Me " I want a butter burger with nothing on it, just the burger and the bun"

1st order...

We got a butter burger with cheese and lettuce.
Pulled back around and reordered

2nd order....

"I need a butter burger with nothing on it. No cheese no lettuce, no catsup, no mustard, no pickle, just a plain patty and the bun"

We got 2 double butter burgers with cheese and one with lettuce so I took those back in to the counter.

3rd time I got the correct food once the manager went in and made them himself.

45 minutes later we were on our way- It was 9:00pm after two practices (4 hours) back to back. It's not like I could leave and drive home without food.

My wife ordered a burger there and got no meat just the bun and condiments.

Done with them forever!

I'm a "plain hamburger" guy, and the Culver's by my work almost always gets it right.

You are wrong. Sonic is like a top 5 fast food place. I have to stop at one when I see one because they aren't around much.

The one I used to go to was on West Kimberly Rd in Davenport. WAS - Closed up tighter than a bull's hind end. The service was terrible there. Gave them 3 or 4 chances.

(In response to Superdog) Some reason quote didn't show up.

I used to like it when drunk in college. When I sobered up early and grabbed one, I thought I was going to puke. Since then, I have never gone back with the few times we hit up Welch Ave.
