Fireworks were fun when I was in high school. The very last part of this scene is pretty much how I feel about them now

I havent bought any fireworks this year.. its been a long time actually, but i dont understand all the ******** about it either.
Nothing says Freedom like fireworks for breakfast.
Just some noisy house wrens here this morning.
I found two 1970's vintage small Blackcats in an old shoe box of college stuff. I assume that 40 years of delicate aging has probably brought them to the height of their power. If they aged like the 1920's vintage .38 autos* I shot once they should be good.
* Furk, I was lucky they didn't blow up the old Colt. Casings split and FIRE was belching out of the barrel at dust. Fireworks!

I equate it with mowing the lawn. Good neighbors wouldn't mow the lawn at midnight.
I'd take that any week over my neighbors who like to start mowing at 8 am or earlier on Saturday mornings.
There are a lot a whiners in here. I haven't bought fireworks since high school 15+ years ago but it's the same type of enjoyment people get from going and seeing the city fireworks on the 4th. Plenty of you probably enjoy going to see those right? The Ankeny ordinance lasts from 9AM to 11PM. I'm sure most places around DM are similar. I'm sure y'all can handle it a week or two out of the entire year.

Our poor dog has been inconsolable for weeks now. I keep thinking how bad it would be if you just got a baby to sleep.
Was talking to someone who got a tornado picture about 10 miles away from us the night our neighbors were shooting off fireworks during our tornado warning.
I guess if you have to go, it might as well be with a boom.
I should have started up a dog psychiatric clinic as it seems all dogs in IA now have PTSD. I am a dog lover, a contributor to shelters, and an owner myself. But c'mon people. The dogs will be fine.
I'll send him over to your place to pant, shake, and vomit at 3:15 a.m.
If you have to work early, why are you on here complaining?
Not disagreeing and I am sure I will hear about calling my dad a whiner last night for not wanting me to light them off at his house. I am as guilty as anyone.
