Not a fan of losing two top 10 prospects for a mediocre reliever who is gone after this year but I guess it worked with Chapman last year.
He's under control next year, I believe. Arbitration next season, free agent in 2019.Not a fan of losing two top 10 prospects for a mediocre reliever who is gone after this year but I guess it worked with Chapman last year.

So Cubs will have to open a spot on the 40 man, and get rid of someone on the 25-man to accommodate this trade (obvious Caratini is going back to Iowa). Grimm makes the most sense, but has been pretty good as of late. Going to be a tough call no matter what way they go.
Sounds like they think Wilson could be the closer next year if Davis walks in FA. Selfishly I would have liked to add a SP so I didn't need to watch Lackey, but I'll gladly take Wilson.
Yeah when I posted that earlier I wasnt sure who had options and who didn't, but Grimm has to be the guy (unless someone goes to the DL), and thats a shame, because he has been much better. It has to be Grimm right? Edwards is the only other guy with options and he's not going down.

Rondon is out of options, and Koji has 5 years of service time so he can refuse an option. Now that this is official, who do we send down on the Active Roster to make room. I assume Rondon, Grimm or Koji..... Tough moves, that and Avil is swap for Caratini......
So you are saying it is Rondon???Rondon is out of options, and Koji has 5 years of service time so he can refuse an option.
