MRI back. I'm sick. Complete ACL tear with partial MCL. School year gone. No football, almost a lock for state wrestling, state track in jeopardy. I haven't told him yet, not sure how.
I'm so sorry for your son. Be as encouraging as you can. Will he require surgery then?

If people need other sad medical news, the parents of that sweet little girl CW did so much to raise money for just signed hospice papers for her a couple days ago.

The best man from my wedding has been fighting a cancer he really didn't have a chance of winning. Couple days ago, they got word that it reached his brain, and he probably has a matter of weeks before he goes home for good.

Ava ??? I remember when Chris posted that her cancer had come back and it wasn't good. So sorry to hear this.

I'm sorry for your friend and his family - and for you and Rev. It's tough to watch a friend go down that road...I've been doing it much too often lately.

The guy in the office next to mine has a picture of his little guy on his desk. He lost him to cancer about 20 years ago and this generally unemotional guy doesn't have a day go by that he doesn't think about him.

Not exactly sure.

I feel terrible for them. I also feel bad that I'm struggling with what is a minor thing compared to those that you mentioned.

For the questions asked. Sounds like surgery and he's a junior, does have his senior year, but this was to be his building year to get college attention.

I do pray for Ava and your friend.

Oh, no. Losing a year is a struggle, man. Don't discount that.

Demonstrating that you can come back from injury better and stronger is often not lost on coaches.

After he gets past the disappointment and is in recovery mode he can work on his upper body and the mental aspects and technique of the game. The year doesn't have to be totally lost. Having goals and something to be productive on can also help to speed up the body's healing.

In drastically different news, Z met her preschool teacher last night.
She was so excited that she was almost vibrating in place, like the Flash travelling through time, but couldn't really focus on anything.

They got a good picture of their upcoming adventure!

That's awesome :)

In early August we got the official email that my son gets to have the same teacher (who he absolutely adores) for 1st grade that he had for both Pre-K and K. He literally walked around the house for 30+ minutes raising his hands over his head and saying "I'M SO HAPPY!!" over and over (and over and over and over).

My son (with some special needs) has for the third straight year gotten a teacher who is brand new to the school. The last two have worked out fine but Mrs. Velo is very concerned about this one. She said about two words to him at orientation the other night, and doesn't seem to have very many social skills for leading a classroom of fourth graders. She has a totally open classroom with the closest thing to a traditional setting being one low table with pillows to lounge on when my kid needs a lot of structure and reduced distractions to be successful. He had such a great year and connected so much with his teacher last year. I'm fearful that this year will be a disaster.
