Is the oil really available at stores in Iowa? What stores exactly? Been considering trying it to see if it would help with stress, anxiety and insomnia but thought I would have to order online.
You can buy hemp derived CBD legally everywhere, it's the cannabis derived CBD that is illegal. Almost all CBD is hemp seed derived, they often sell it mixed with THC in a 1-1 or 2-1 THC ratio for pain in places where applicable.

I remember a thread titled "just say no" about a certain ISU media personality in potential trouble with the law/substances being closed. IMO, it would make sense to do the same for this student athlete rather than let the speculation run rampant.

Yes all over; mainly natural products or health food stores currently; if you are in an urban area like Des Moines or Cedar Rapids you can check smaller grocery stores like Natural Grocers or Fresh Thyme or food coops. The CBD Oil from Hemp that is available has less than .3% thc. Currently the imported stuff relies on case law for its legality (2004 HIA vs. DEA). The domestic produced stuff relies on the 2014 Farm Bill for its legality. HR3530 which has strong bipartisan support including support from the House Judiciary committee would completely remove cannabis under .3% thc (hemp) from the CSA.

If he has psychological pain marijuana is a far better medicine than those pills they try to give you. Old people need to get over the stigma. 30 percent of the country smokes. Its doing just fine.

Idk the specifics of Park's situation but I can tell you if its just weed than who cares? Free time should be your time.

I agree with your sentiments, but I wouldn't put that number over 10%, and probably under. The larger point stands though. More effective, less side effects, but no patents. That's what it boils down to.

Some of the old timers watched Reefer Madness for their drug propaganda. The ignorance runs deep.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is only ignorance about weed. I do think it is possible to understand that weed has its benefits and may well be on the road to legalization, all while expecting someone on the football team to abstain from doing something that is a violation of team and NCAA rules, let alone Iowa law.

Something like 43% have admitted to using it. Let me just tell you from my own experiences 30% is probably low, especially younger generations. Daily users is probably in th 20s. Marijuana is the #1 cash crop in the country. Take that coffee addicts.

I don't want to get into a pissing contest about smoking weed. But, the main problem that smoking weed tends to lead to more hard drugs. You can look at all hard drug users and they will almost be certain that they smoked weed.

Marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug.
Schedule 2 drugs include opium, meth, and cocaine.

Tell me how the highest classification ("most dangerous") of narcotic in this country leads to use of "less dangerous" drugs. It's like saying taking shots of Wild Turkey might lead people to start drinking flavored Michelob Ultras.

This is exactly why I'm uncomfortable even reading through this thread. Maybe we should all just take a break from the speculation and give the guy some privacy until he comes back. If/when he is ready to discuss whatever's been going on, he will. Until then we should all just back off.
Exactly right! Quit speculating.

This thread reeks with rampant speculation and personal grievances, but I must draw the line right here. Nobody gets away with belittling the pure, delectable, soul-saving sippable refinement of Turkey 101.

Some of those older people you speak of are bigger stoners than young people. There is the other group that don't smoke anymore but did in their younger days. Even many of the ones that didn't smoke when they were younger really don't have issue with it.

Weed like any other substance when used for rec purposes isn't that big of deal, but when it becomes a lifestyle, like it does for some, and harms other areas of you life then it is an issue.

Dislike the laws and team rules all you want, you still have to follow them. If you are not following the rule be smart enough not to get caught breaking the rules. If any player has a bad test once and gets a warning, and knows that happens next time he gets caught, then gets caught, that is on the player, and no one else. That player made a choice and he has to live with it.
