Does weed help with sleeping disorder? I take advil pm and I have to take like 2 blue pills in order to get 4 hrs of sleep and I have nightmares with it. Maybe I should try weed. This is not a joke though.
You should definitely try it. I have no trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep when I smoke a little but struggle with both when I don't.

My wife has a chronic illness with many symptoms similar to fibromyalgia. Anyone here know of anyone who has experienced relief from thier symptoms with medical marijuana? She also has a sleep disorder to boot, and is generally miserable/tired most days. Id like her to take a trip to colorado for a week and use medicinally just to see what happens.

Yes. Marijuana is a great pain reliever, muscle relaxant, and mood booster. I say go for it.

Just to chip in on the weed issue, since this thread is no longer football related...

Read a stat on weed which was roughly this: ~10% of the users consume ~90% of it. I could not locate the article, it was in the Economist, and I think it was based on Colorado or one of the other states that legalized it. So what this tells you is a lot of people can use it with no problems. But for some, getting stoned is all they do, and their lives are basically wasted literally and figuratively.

So the argument going on in this thread is pointless. It's NOT an either/or thing, that weed is fine or weed is terrible. Some people CAN smoke and it's not a problem. Others smoke a LOT and it IS a problem. It's a lot like alcohol, except the bad effects are different.

I've got to the point where I am OK with legalization; it's less bad than prohibition and the associated criminal activity. But we need to spend some of that tax money on helping people who do develop problems. We don't do a very good job of that as a society, helping addicts.

But is it a problem for them in their personal lives, or do the effects roll over and hurt the rest of society? That's the real question. If the answer is "their personal lives", why do we care?

He's not playing for free, for our entertainment. He is getting school, room, board and everything paid for. Some even enjoy playing for the love of the game, like a walk on quarterback.

"Everything paid for"

Care to expand? What's "everything" and does it give me more power to judge him even though few of us have all of the facts?

School, Housing, Food, and a little extra for spending money from my experience.

So my point here (and you would know better than I would) is Park isn't getting rich. He's playing a sport that can leave him with really bad physical and mental issues.

So that being the case how can some pile on without all of the info? Football players don't have it easy. It could be a pain related issue. It could be he's strung out. We just don't know.

Maybe he made a mistake. Maybe he has a true health issue. He's a college man with obligations and issues of his own. If it isn't a drug related event then he's been done a disservice on CF

Bolded - correct he is not getting rich

Underlined - while this may be true it is widely known when you play football damage can be done

No one is forcing Park to play college football. If he wants to go to college and doesn't have the money, he can take out loans. If he wants to get to the NFL, he can hire a personal trainer to give him the physical and skill developmental training that he is getting at ISU, and then he can apply for a waiver to get in the NFL draft once he has been out of high school long enough. And he can also hire a publicist to get him the exposure that he gets playing as a starting QB in the Big 12. How much do you think those latter two things would cost him for two or three years while he is waiting to become eligible for the draft?

Marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug.
Schedule 2 drugs include opium, meth, and cocaine.

Tell me how the highest classification ("most dangerous") of narcotic in this country leads to use of "less dangerous" drugs. It's like saying taking shots of Wild Turkey might lead people to start drinking flavored Michelob Ultras.
You just need to back away from my Wild Turkey. Don't go getting that stuff banned.

If you have tried other things to no-avail, there is no reason you shouldn't try it to see how it helps. If it is as big of a part of her life as you make it seem it's Smart of you in thinking you should take a trip out the CO(rather than trying to get some yourself in IA/NE :)), as you can speak with the people at dispensaries and they are generally pretty knowledgeable about what helps with what types of aches, pains, and otherwise. Also if she isn't a smoker/etc. the edibles are what make it a lot easier to dose it out and not take too much or too little, although you should ease into those as well to be safe. A particular type of marijuana is helpful for sleeplessness, that would be another thing you can get recommended if you were to go out there.
