We argue about some of the dumbest **** around here.
Rememeber the last "dream game" 2002- #11 iSu with Heisman candidate Seneca Wallace playing #2 Oklahoma....
That would be the top 20% I am talking about. There were 110,000+ plus people at Penn State this weekend.
All I'm asking for is that more than the average # of fans show up to the biggest game at JTS in 10+ years. How is that unreasonable? If the fanbase won't show up for this one, which Big 12 game WILL they show up for?
And, again, I'm not calling out any one particular fan for not going. We all have a life with other interests and responsibilities. But the fanbase as a whole should sell this game out. And if we can't, our stadium is too big.
Yep, being a good fan isn’t in the cards if you need to hunt to get calories. They should not even be a lame or T-shirt fan, let alone a good, program supporting fan. All of their resources should go to food and shelter. If they go pheasant hunting they can combine spending $$$ and getting food![]()
There were 43,257 in Ft Worth to see #8TCU versus #23 West Virginia. It holds 50K
All 40k of them? You see iSu fans have seen opportunities to see the"fans dream" for decades.
Sure we haven't seen #25 vs #4 but iSu fans have seen division championship games
Again, I will be there, late but there but damn...I don't know how anyone can fault iSu fans for not showing up.
We are simply the most resilient fanbase in the country. No other team in the country has seen as little success and yet come a=out and support the team.
Yep same 50,000 fans that still fill the stadium today and had their hearts ripped out time and time and time again.. Same 50k fans that have seen just 3 winning seasons since. Same 50k fans that thought Chizik would be great, then thought Rhoads was turning things around then thought Mangino would help Rhoads turn things around, then watched iSu piss away leads last year. That was at Oklahoma. Not Jack Trice Stadium.
The game before that was at home vs. unranked Texas Tech on October 12. We had 51,852 people there when we averaged 45,524 fans per game that year. Our base fanbase is much bigger than that. So asking us to sell 60,000 tickets this weekend is not an unrealistic ask by any means. So let's do it.
You are a farmer that has 70% of your crop in the field and won't get in the field today or tomorrow because it just rained. Crop prices are crap, and you are looking at a lean year and the weatherman has mentioned snow. From the moment we secured the win over TTU, I thought to myself "I don't care what it takes I have to go on Saturday." It astonishes me there are other fans that don't feel that way.
I honestly have no clue how parents with sports aged kids even make a game. I was able to hit UNI because it was before all the fall leagues started and we had no travel tourneys that weekend. I can't even watch the games live anymore let along drive to Ames. Doesn't make me a bad fan, makes me a good dad/coach.

Those same fans have been trained by iSu to be let down for decades. So they have learned that dream games come and go and they have learned to reprioritize their lives
Reason #9 to not have kids.
Those same fans then Lament about how ISU football sucks and cry about why they can't get a winning program. When the opportunity presents itself it'll be a shame if the fanbase misses it because they are to busy ******** about Herbstreit instead of doing something about it.Yep same 50,000 fans that still fill the stadium today and had their hearts ripped out time and time and time again.. I can understand that guy not making the game
Agree with all of this. There is no excuse for there to be empty seats at this game. It's as big a game as we could have and is before any of us could have dreamed of. You can buy them for $30. Iowa didn't sell quite all of their $95 tickets to a stadium that holds 10,000 more people and we had a thread ridiculing them. There were 110,000+ plus people at Penn State this weekend.
