What I dont understand is how we can sell out all of those games in the Rhoads era when we they were putting out a terrible product on the field. This team is actually really good and really fun to watch. I would buy a ticket just to watch David Montgomery make fools of people.

Sadly, the people we all need to convince to buy tickets are not on Fanatic. Most people on here are die hards and will already be there if they can make it. Its all of our casual ISU neighbor and friend fans that we need to get in the stands.

Anything over 55K is good, not much difference in the atmosphere between 55k and 60k. I think there will be a minimum of 55k for sure.

I think it sells out if the weather is good. We will benefit from the hype all week! Sounds like we are at 90% capacity right now. Isn't that an A-?

Hopefully people realize the weather isn't that bad and we have a decent walk up as well.

.

We didn’t sell out October/november games under rhoads. His last year under the new stadium configuration we had 52k, 53k, and 54k for our last 3 games.

Cult of personality stuff. People really liked Rhoads more than football, so we turned out for him.
The guy that's actually putting something together will get all that support, but it's a tougher row to get there.

As a lame duck coach, of course, with those games being the end to a sad season. Hopefully being good and a top-25 matchup will lead to a 7k-8k bump.

What is your point? Are you suggesting some of those 50,000 people will stay home instead of go to the TCU game?

We had 60k for UNI. We had 60k for Iowa. If we can't get 60k for a top 5 matchup for our own conference game then either 1) our fanbase isn't that big because if we can't get 60k this weekend, when can we outside of a UNI or Iowa game? or 2) we rely on UNI and Iowa fans to fill our stadium.

I have no idea what you are arguing or why you are arguing its acceptable to have a the same crowd this weekend as we did last year for a meaningless Oct 29th game against K-State (53,000)..makes no sense.
My point is it is a different year and their are different circumstances that can prevent people from attending. And you and others keep poo pooing them and making drama statements like "we don't deserve Campbell if we don't sell out." Or "it will be embarrassing if we don't sell out." Or "it is ridiculous if we don't sell out."

People making those statements are ignoring current college athletic attendance trends. They are ignoring how well iSu fans have supported their teams on gameday for years.

I am arguing that we aren't a bad fanbase if we don't sell out. I am arguing that I understand if fans, who have been kicked int he nuts for 40 freaking years, don't have the enthusiasm that you have. I understand fans who have been disappointed decade after decade, don't make it Saturday because they have had their hopes up many times before only to be crushed.

In the end...it won't matter. We will have 58,000+ in the stands. WE have already sold over 53,000 tickets(more than KSU last year) and this post and the worriers about the stadium not being full or looking full.

BTW- The fans that went to the KSU game last year...they saw a 3 win team that lost to UNI. you don't think some of those fans said F$%K it after last season? I know of one that sold his bus, and lowered donations. They usually brought 10-15 people to every game and this year have made two games. They have had season tickets for over 20 years.

I do understand people this hat made prior engagements and plans, but I also think it is ridiculous and embarrassing to not sellout.

With how much we talk about how great of a fan base we are we can't even sellout our first top 25 showdown?

Saying that I believe we will have 60 plus in the stands. It's homecoming and is still Tuesday.

I don't mind people that have made plans already not coming. I'm calling out the people that have nothing better to do and just want to sit at home. Come to the game!

The more and more you post, the more you sound like a really ****** fan.
Nope, I attend every chance I get. Drive 5+ hours round trip whether it is a night game of 11:00 game. 20 degrees or 90 degrees. I am in my seat before kick off and until the last second ticks. On Saturday, I will go to Ankeny, watch my Sr daughter swim and then will bust my ass up to the game to see as much as I can. I will rewatch the game on Sunday or when I get the chance just like I do every week.

I do have kids, I work in the ag industry, and I have been a fan for decades. So I understand why people with kids might not make it and might prioritize family over the game. Even if it is a simple family gathering. If my daughter didn't swim, I would be allowed the day off so I understand farmers and people working in the Ag industry that can't make the game. I have been a Cyclone fan for decades and I understand fans that see this game just like every other "program changing game" in the history of iSu football. I understand if they feel that way. I understand if they need more to be convinced. I don't feel that way but I understand why they do.

I understand why people might not drop $150 and spend a day at a game and instead sit at home, watch it on TV, do some yard work and then take half that money and have a nice meal out with the wife who hates football.

I just find it asinine for people to make statements like "lame fans, we don't deserve Campbell if we don't sellout, blah, blah blah." Other programs take years of winning to average 50K. Campbell knows that. Other programs win 10 games a season and don't average 50K and Campbell knows that. It takes time to earn the trust of fence sitters, casual fans, and the fans that have been lost. Campbell and Pollard know that.

We have a great fanbase. That fanbase is 50,000 that bought season tickets to a program that has won 17 games in the last five years. That attendance is better that over half the Big 12 and 70% of college football.
The people you are talking about are the fans that are fence sitters. Fans that have seen this movie before and feel they know the ending. Casual fans etc.

I'll give oyu my former brother in laws...both grew up hok fans. Both attended iSu. Both have had season tickets to iSu since graduating. Both have been sucked back in multiple times only to be disappointed and go back to the hoks. Back and forth they go. iSu has never given them a reason to hang around as fans for very long.

Not everyone in this world is reactionary.

Those same fans then Lament about how ISU football sucks and cry about why they can't get a winning program. When the opportunity presents itself it'll be a shame if the fanbase misses it because they are to busy ******** about Herbstreit instead of doing something about it.
A lot of those same fans have been dedicating time, money and effort into supporting iSu for 40 years only to see the same results.

I am not one of them but I am not arrogant enough to tell them how to feel. I am not arrogant enough to tell them they are not good fans if they just haven't bought in yet.

tickets for $30 each on cyclones website. Grass parking only $20, which is closer than half the paved lots anyway, unless you are afraid of grass. Could all be yours for $110, if you can handle the extra $10.
Paved lots for $20 at Vet Med

The only people that care if we have 61.5k vs 57k are those in **** measuring contests with iowa fans. I believe this will be the highest attended oct/nov game in the history of isu football. Give it a rest.

Its not a matter of an extra couple thousand people or not. Its that the biggest game in 15+ years isn't sold out yet... If we can't sell this game out then what are we doing as fans?
