Good stuff here...how many out there were going oh crap when TTech was driving for a score to cut the lead from 11 to 4 in the 4th quarter? They were putting on the ISU nut cups and then bam, pick-6! Different team...different coach...different result. My point is it is a different year and their are different circumstances that can prevent people from attending. And you and others keep poo pooing them and making drama statements like "we don't deserve Campbell if we don't sell out." Or "it will be embarrassing if we don't sell out." Or "it is ridiculous if we don't sell out."
People making those statements are ignoring current college athletic attendance trends. They are ignoring how well iSu fans have supported their teams on gameday for years.
I am arguing that we aren't a bad fanbase if we don't sell out. I am arguing that I understand if fans, who have been kicked int he nuts for 40 freaking years, don't have the enthusiasm that you have. I understand fans who have been disappointed decade after decade, don't make it Saturday because they have had their hopes up many times before only to be crushed.
In the end...it won't matter. We will have 58,000+ in the stands. WE have already sold over 53,000 tickets(more than KSU last year) and this post and the worriers about the stadium not being full or looking full.
BTW- The fans that went to the KSU game last year...they saw a 3 win team that lost to UNI. you don't think some of those fans said F$%K it after last season? I know of one that sold his bus, and lowered donations. They usually brought 10-15 people to every game and this year have made two games. They have had season tickets for over 20 years.
As for KSU...I for one hope that Campbell is actually Van Helsing in disguise and puts a final stake in the vampires heart.
