Netflix
Breaking Bad because it's awesome and my favorite series all-time.
Longmire because he's a dude.
Amazon
Sneaky Pete because Giovanni Ribisi is fantastic in it.
Boardwalk Empire. The first two seasons are tremendous but kind of drops off after that.

Currently watching Banshee on amazon prime and really like it. Quarry is next on my list and also on Prime.

We no longer have dish and are just streaming. I am looking for some suggestions on good shows to stream. We have most of the standard apps (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, CBS, HBO). I just finished Silicon Valley and Man in the High Castle. I have seen all of the MCU series on Netflix plus Stranger Things, 11.22.63 and the OA (plus some others).

What are some that you like and why?

Stranger Things
G.L.O.W.
Game of Thrones

Start there.

Too many to list without knowing what all you've seen. A couple that I think are must watches would be Veep and House of Cards. Veep is probably one of the funniest shows I've ever watched.

Shameless is a favorite of me and my wife.
Always Sunny in Philadelphia, my wife doesn't care for it but I love it.
Parks and Rec, just muscle through the 1st season because it's easily the worst.
An Idiot Abroad, hilarious travel show.
The Fall, suspenseful crime/cop drama. Great show.
Westworld
Archer, another one my wife hates but I love

Some older HBO shows like The Sopranos or The Wire if you haven't seen them, definitely recommend both.

Another "hilariously tacky" one like Archer is Bojack Horseman on Netflix.

I've got a bunch of standard answers of my usual favorites, but I'm going to try and go with ones that nobody ever seems to mention:

Extras (on Netflix) - a Ricky Gervais show with tons of guest stars
Master of None (Netflix)
Oh, Hello (Netflix)
Sherlock (various)
Louie (various)
A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix)

Some of my favorite Netflix shows:
Bloodline - season 1 is awesome. 2 and 3 start to drop off
The Ranch - if you like stupid, obvious humor this is a decent
Narcos
Black Mirror - Each episode is its own mini show, each one is different. Technology/sci fi type show. Some of the episodes really make you think about society in the next 20+ years.
Orange is the New Black - Maybe not my favorite but it's ok

Netflix also has a bunch of really good documentaries if you're into those:
The Seven Five
Making a Murderer
A Faster Horse
Betting on Zero
Jiro Dreams of Sushi
Get Me Roger Stone
Who Took Johnny - about Johnny Gosch from WDM

Do yourself a favor and do the 7-day free trial of SlingTV.

I second The Ranch, I couldnt stand the first season but it was fantastic for season 2, really funny stuff.
Maron was a great show, and you can always do well watching Gotham, Im addicted to that show because I grew up watching the Batman cartoons so I love seeing the origins of a lot of the characters.

I enjoyed the first two seasons of Flaked on Netflix. I question my taste as no one seems to ever mention it but it's Will Arnett so I can't be wrong. Unless I am.

Parks and Rec and Veep are the only ones I have tried. See my post about Veep above. I thought the first few shows of Parks and Rec were ok, but not as good as The Office.

I have been thinking about House of Cards too. I usually watch the first episode with my wife and if she likes it, we continue watching together. Otherwise, I watch on my own because I travel a lot.

I just finished watching Parks and Rec. While The Office got worse towards the end, Parks and Rec got better. I don't know what I am going to do with no more episodes. It was the funniest show I have ever seen. I might just have to watch it again.

It's so hard to get people to watch Parks and Rec because you have to reassure them that after the first 1.5 seasons it gets amazing, but it really does. Thankfully they did enough seasons that it was really good for much longer than it was not so good.
