Don't know if anyone was looking at Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, but it got moved to Wooly's because it got too big for Vaudeville Mews. Not sure if this link will work: LINK
I looked back a couple of pages and didn't see anyone mention that Old 97s will be at Wooly's on 10/17. I've got my tickets!

This weekend is killer - we're going to Buzz Beach Ball in KC this weekend (LINK) because we'd signed up for it prior to anything else was announced. I'm incredibly excited to see Run the Jewels and a few of the lower ticket items (I've already seen Weezer and Snoop in the past).
However, it's killing a part of me that both Beck AND Nathaniel Rateliff are in Iowa this weekend and I won't be at either!

So what did you think? You were right about the venue....nice place.
I loved that he opened with the Trapeze Swinger.
I really enjoyed the show! Him and John Moreland both have amazing voices (in completely different ways). What did you think?
Yeah it is cool and has great acoustics.

Yeah, John Moreland was a pleasant surprise. I thought he sounded a little like Tom Waits.
This was my fourth time seeing Iron & Wine, and I'd put this one as my third favorite.
1) @ Hoyt Sherman for the Ghost on Ghost tour. He played with something like a thirteen piece backing band, and it was just spectacular.
2) @ Red Rocks. Just him and his guitar for that one. He player Upward Over the Mountain, and my wife and I both cried.
3) @ the Palace Theater. Nothing really remarkable about it that I'll remember for a long time, but he was good. It was like musical comfort food. Nothing fancy but totally satisfying.
4 @ People's in downtown DM. Legitimately awful. It was like Sam Beam had decided to start a Pink Floyd cover band for the night. But on the bright side, the Head and the Heart opened for him and they were fantastic.

Those first two sound like they would be pretty hard to top. This being my first time seeing him I thought he put on a great show. Definitely understand how it would not quite measure up to some of your other experiences though.
Not Summer any more, but seeing LCD Soundsystem at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul tonight.
I'm really excited to see the type of show they put on, I have refrained from looking up their set-list and hope to just go in blind and be wowed. Has anyone seen LCD live before? I'm sure their performances have changed since they first started touring, but I am super excited to see what they perform, style of transitions, lighting, etc. because they could do pretty much anything with their style of music.

Alabama was my first real concert. Hilton coliseum 1985. Skoal bandits and peppermint schnapps were great......until they weren't great anymore.My first concert was Alabama at the State Fair. My music tastes have changed a lot since 7th grade
I'm so ticked. Me and a large group of friends got ripped off by a ticket broker and won't be going now.
Now we're just hoping to get our money back.
Can't wait! saw them at Wrigley last year and they were amazing. their last couple shows they have been playing for nearly 3 hours.... should be a hell of a night.
