Love Memphis, and the Liberty Bowl is great - at least it has a name and has been around a long time.

But playing UMemphis in their own stadium? BARF. Win and no one cares, lose and its embarrassing -- because they are a G5 (albeit a quite good team).

I was 100% ready to go to the Liberty Bowl. But <50% chance I go to a road game in Memphis.

Agree, this is the worst possible match up we could have had. Everybody complains about too many bowl games yet these teams get home games. WTF. Wouldn't you want to go somewhere else too?

KC is getting the ISU treatment now by the refs. Why do i have to deal with this crap?

The "Official" notice says the game starts at 11:30 PM CT. That can't be right, can it?

Sure would make it easier to drive up there day of the game!

By playing the home team, you'd think hotels will stay reasonable as hell.

Given the Memphis fans will be sleeping at their homes, I'm guessing the hotels aren't super excited about this matchup.

Repeat location, G5 opponent, basically a road game. This is pretty much the worst possible outcome. Classic ISU nutcup ending.

So much ******** about being in Memphis. Holy ****, we haven't been bowling in 5 years, and we are upset about this? My god. I for one am pumped about this. Memphis was a blast last time, minus the game portion, and it will be a blast again this year. Stop whining, and get your butt there to support this team!

I posted something similar in the other thread, but let's fill the stands with Cyclone fans. I want the Memphis players to run out onto their home field to chants of "Cyclone/Power". That would have to be deflating for the Tigers.

I think I'll be more excited once the day of the game gets here.

Bowl's a bowl's a bowl. I think some of the underwhelming feeling is because it's not like ISU was blown out in a bunch of games...with being competitive every week you get the sense that they're 'underseeded' but can't prove it.

In the meantime hopefully ISU basketball has some nice success between now and then.
