In their defense, we're barely into December and Iowa has all but eliminated themselves from the NCAA tournament. In a year they were supposed to be a top 6 seed.

Will be a fun dumpster fire to watch play out.
I would rather see Iowa just make the tournament and lose in the play in game so Fran gets an extension and continues to keep Iowa basketball mediocre.

Rebounds: 53 : 31 Iowa
Turnovers: 18 : 8 ISU
DJ: 4 - 13, 2-8 trey.
Had you given me that stat before the game - I would not have been that confident that we won. The problem is that DJ missed a lot of wide open looks. If he had hit 2 or 3 more of those open looks, I think we would have won by double digits. That said - it was good to get a win when our best shooter is "off," and Lard hardly plays. I wonder how Cameron would have impacted the 1st half had he not picked up those 2 quick fouls.

Why did Cook sit out the second half for them?
Not sure. Maybe Fran liked the Nunge/Baer combo for crashing the glass and both can shoot 3s. Was suprised he didn't get Pemsl's minutes from the 8 minute mark until his injury.

Why not blame Fran. He has kept Pemsl on the bench for the majority of most games. And can't find a way to get his guards consistently open shots with a definitive size advantage inside.

I dunno, I'd say those lame moving [leaning? stumbling?] screens on the perimeter were pretty effective tonight. And they never got called on that once. But their guys don't need much room to hit shots, against us at least.
