Orr and Hoiberg are the only two locks I think I have. Niang a good shot at it, Grayer possibly, Gary Thompson is in the conversation also. A lot of possibilities.

Only four spots on the mountain. Who is up there?

Unlike football, our recent success may make this trickier as we're biased towards more recent players and we have more accomplishments to sort through. Or will it?

My list:
Fizer
Hoiberg
Niang
Abdul-Aziz

Orr (for obvious reasons)

Hoiberg (more so for the coaching but both eras make him the legend he is)

Pollard (for making two home run basketball hires so far that have given us an Orr-esque shift back to national relevance)

The fourth spot for me would've been Fizer because he is absolutely our best and most decorated player ever, and if not for Kenyon Martin would've won national POY. But, if we are going for influential and a "face" of ISU basketball, I think it has to be Niang because of the constant national attention he brought to the program during the social media era, and the scope of familiarity that people outside the state had with him during his time here.

In a few years I hope Prohm is a very strong candidate for the fourth spot.

I love Georges! Awesome Cyclone through and through, but I think it’s gotta be.

Orr
Hoiberg
Thompson
Grayer

This thread has a chance of getting really interesting in a few years with the potential that Prohm and Co are showing.

Those third and fourth spots are wicked hard to pick. Hoiberg or Thompson could just as easily be on and you would have just as good of a list.

Don't see leaving Gary Thompson off the list. He has been for a long time, and still is to a large extent, an icon of ISU athletics. Can't think of anyone else who has influenced ISU athletics as much or for as long.

I think Orr is like Crazy horse he gets his own Mountain. Hoiberg as a player isn't worthy outside of our love for him but as a combo with coaching yeah.

Based on how good they were as players....
Fizer
Grayer
Tinsley
Stevens

Based on impact to program
Orr
Hoiberg
Thompson
Niang

He wasn't one of the 4 best Cyclone basketball players. Top 10 maybe. What he did in the NBA is irrelevant. If you want to go that route insert Hornacek who was a much more accomplished NBA player.

As a player Hoiberg is definitely deserving. He’s 4th in career points at ISU, 4th in steals, and something like 8th in career rebounds.

I would put Grayer, Fizer, Hoiberg, and Niang on my top 4 list.
