Thoughts on the game:

1. Wigginton a true freshman looked like the better player tonight vs. All Big 12 Carter.

2. Talley is getting better and better as he gains more confidence. Appreciate his game a little more every outing. Anyone know if the injury is still bugging him? Really think he could break out for the duration of the year into his senior season.

3. DJ is a stud.

4. Young and Lard looked like grown men down there tonight. I think the soft comments fell squarely on their shoulders.

5. How much length will we have defensively next year? Think a lineup of Babb, Shayok, THT, Talley, Lard. Length for days that'll take a toll on teams.

If Prohm can get next year's team to gel quickly, we will be a dangerous monster from day 1. We have the potential to be an absolute nightmare for anyone to deal with.
And maybe, just maybe, the team that finally destroys Kansas.

Like the optimism, and looking forward to next year too, but 'destroy' KU? lol I assume you meant end their streak. They are loaded next year, again. Lots of good transfers, lots of 5-stars. But yeah, I'd take 1 pt. wins over them,....3 times!

I never really got a good look from the tv, but was the balcony mostly empty?

Top half of student balcony was totally empty. I got to the game w/4 minutes to go in the1st half as I was walking in I met about 8 students walking out WTH? Do they get points for showing up or something? There were actually student lowers open.

Overall attendance wasn't too bad for a weeknight 6pm game coming off a really bad loss on Sat. knowing NWB wasn't going to play. I'm guessing 3000 empty seats spread through out the entirety.

Great job by Talley. It reminds me of how it took the Milwaukee game to realize some things. We’ll see how our halfcourt does against Baylor.

You can see why WVU has lost 5 out of 6. Without Miles they’re not going far. That press was still good at fouling without getting called, but not good at anything else.

How the **** can our guards continuously get mugged with no call, yet Lard and Young get whistled for phantom contact.

I'm feeling lots and lots of joy, but a big part of me also wants me to tell the Prohm-haters (and we know they are out there and we know who some of them are) to STFU and go EABOD.

People who are still upset that CFH isn't out coach anymore, and who therefore cannot and will not give Prohm a fair chance need to get the **** over their butthurt and start being bigger fans of ISU, no matter who is coaching, than they are of a former head coach, as great as he was. I am done with them.

Rant over.
I agreed with your post, but have to say I know a lot of Cyclone fans and they all like Steve. I personally don’t know any who think he is a bad coach. I do know people who are mad at Fred for leaving though, but that does not make them dislike Steve. Just my opinion.

Fantastic game from everyone. And a coaching masterpiece.

I think that everyone stepped up without Nick, and I think it also pulled us out of our routine. Different guys in different spots making different decisions.

Don't you dare!

I think they do get points for showing up. It’s really dumb. Idk why those students don’t stay for the game. I cared way more about the game as a student than any of Cyclone alleys lame giveaways.

I'm pretty old there was no Cyclone Alley. Johnny went to every dorm floor, sorority, fraternity on campus to build student support. I was there the night we beat Mizzou, hooked me for life. Bad or good I try to be there. But it sure is great on nights like tonight.

Could be a lot of reasons students leave. Mine didn't go because he had class from 6:10-8:00. Classes, homework, jobs, whatever.

My kids that have gone to Iowa State never cared about alley points. My older one barely got into the Iowa game one year because of class though. He got to stand on the parquet.

Watching Young frustrate the heck out of Konate was fun. He played with an edge tonight that we haven't seen, but he is physically capable of doing that regularly.

DJ was great, Talley was great, Lard was great, Wiggy was great. Long and Beverly gave good minutes off of the bench.

I'm still kind of in shock from that game. I didn't think the team stood much of a chance, but I couldn't be more happy to be wrong.
