INSIDER: Campbell and D-Line recruits

Somebody on the staff told me this today and I thought it was interesting.

Said that Campbell personally recruits every D-Line target. He's that obsessed with the position. Didn't get into much more detail than that but I've been around a decade or so and have never heard of a head coach personally recruiting one specific position like that. Pretty interesting.

can't argue with the results. The DL is light years better than it was when Campbell came to town. There were a couple guys that put in a great effort under CPR, but they always had to play way too many snaps and backups were generally destroyed when they got in there.

Well it's no secret, he's brought in some studs on the D line. Massive dudes too

5-2 Monster.

D-backs just don't get beat deep. It's that simple.

CMC probably knows that if you want to beat the mile a minute offenses, screwing them up up front and making the QB's uncomfortable is key.

Makes sense, d line is the most important position group other than QB. No other position group can have a larger impact on the game imo.

I'm sure he is deeply involved. I would love the head coach to focus on my position. I would have a better position group to train. Everyone wants love from the head coach if they are being recruited.

Campbell being personally involved explains the uptick in Defensive Line recruitment. Add in Eli Rasheed as well.

No question that DL improvement is a big reason for the team improving. Our OL is getting better as well. Campbell and Company are putting the pieces in place for better and better teams. #RaisetheStandard

I think fans often get confused about this ... position coaches don't specifically recruit for their position. A D-Line coach could in theory recruit a QB. Goes more off of geography than anything.
