If David has an All-Big 12 season again and leaves early for the NFL (Like most think he will). Matt Campbell will be able to sell Jirehl on the fact that his last 2 running backs are Kareem Hunt and David! That alone should be enough of a sales pitch for a commitment

That would be one hard sales pitch to turn down if I'm a stud HS recruit or his parents!!

Be hard to get him to commit when we have 5 serviceable backs ready to go right now. Would love to land the kid, but we have the better backs when compared to Iowa. If he is looking for playing time TOE is the right team to choose.

DM Register's Matthew Bains's latest recruiting article. Plus if Brock were to redshirt, Montgomery and Warren would be gone with no running backs in the 2018 class.

Funniest part about that segment of their podcast was how quickly they try to dismiss us as a good option for the kid. If he wants to be a feature back in an offense committed to running the ball he will pick Iowa blah, blah, blah.

I think Campbell has proven his willingness to commit to the run game and that's only going to get more prevalent as our offense line improves. Just funny how people STILL hold the perception that shotgun/spread offenses cant run the ball even though its been proven wrong over and over.

Great update on Jirehl though. He would be big time addition and in line from some major playing time early in his career after Montgomery is gone.

Ha! I almost included their response in the earlier post. It's just ignorant at this point. They've been splitting RB carries and under utilizing NFL TEs for a decade.

Also... Who wants a kid handed a premier role? You want the kid that'll compete and earn that role, ala Montgomery.

Im not sure he will need to use any. Tonight will be his 5th time visiting Iowa, hasnt he been to ISU 3 times or so?

I would assume he has been on the other campuses at least a couple times.

Yes, but record low tv ratings beg the question, if a football game is so poorly watched on tv,even though no other games were being played that night, that the primary sponsor stopped sponsoring the game afterwards, did the game really happen?
