Oh man. Sick burn highlighting Iowa's success in the 80s and how much better they were than ISU. You should make another one about the KF era showing Iowa's 3 BCS/NY6 games, 1 BCS win, 5 top 10 finishes and several conference championships. That will really show Hok fans!

The whole point was the subtitle. It was exactly this 80s success that led to TODAY'S arrogance - and it's THAT ARROGANCE which is mis-applied in the context of the Jirehl Brock recruitment (and in many similar situations "today").

Oh man, a couple of first place ties 14+ years ago and a division winner in 2015. Not saying that ISU can compare historically, but they routinely go up against teams in recruiting with better recent history than that (plus better locations) and they win some battles. When recruiting against iowa, their "success" on the field is the least of my worries. It's just not that impressive. I'd be more concerned with their pro style schemes and history of putting kids in the pros. I think that ISU will be fine either way though.

It would be best (for Hawkeye fans) to not go to "247sports iowa state" and read the interview that Alex Halsted posted today (free) regarding Jirehl Brock's recruitment.

Why? It was pretty good. At this point if a kid is giving an interview to a reporter dedicated to a program of course he's going to say glowing things about that program.

Fair point. I enjoy your usually objective posts on here. Please tell me you are not that prick that posts under Gonzo Bloor on HR.

I can be just as bad over here, but either way it's usually being directed at someone who's being equally pricky.

Whew, based off your statement, I was expecting Brock to say something that suggested Iowa State was a major threat in his recruitment. Instead it was a couple sentences of him saying he likes Iowa State’s coaching staff. Why exactly would Iowa fans not want to read that?

Arguing about where a kid is going to go to college is silly. If you could read an 18-yr old's mind then you wouldn't be conversing with the likes of us. His list is solid. None would surprise me.

I believe TOE received another crystal ball prediction for Brock over the weekend. Looks like they are still in the driver's seat if CBs can be believed.

Agreed, one program has played in a BCS level bowl the last 20 years.

:)

j/k

Only one of those teams finished in the Top 25 last year, Northwestern. Clearly going to NW.

or
The only school not in a state starting with "I", Minnesota? So, it's clearly the Gophers!

Oh you mean when he ran Jewell over the first time?

Or maybe when he juked him out of his shorts for a second touchdown?
Hard to get a lot of momentum built up when your head gets turned sideways by the facemask a few steps earlier.

I kind of understand Butler's drop at the end of the iowa game. He knew he was short of the sticks and he knew there was a guy bearing down on him so he was trying to sneak a peak to figure out where he was going to dive to move the sticks. Not what you are supposed to do, but I get it.
