I don’t really think speculation on here is bad (except for the boyfriend thing). Mostly everything else that’s been said is completely reasonable in my opinion
I'm not at all a pro-gun person, but if if had daughters of this age I'd have them carrying at all times these days. Too many terrible people out there.
I have a 17 y.o. daughter who is a runner. No more running after dark and no more running on trails. Only populated areas. Her bf usually follows on his bike now too.I am not Pro-gun either and I see your point but there are other options IMO. Most female realtors carry pepper spray with them partially for this reason.

My thoughts are with her and her family.
Sounds like there was a Snapchat late that evening (so after her run....unless she went for another AM run) and the outfit she would have worn to work is not found.
What's intriguing to me (for all newer cases like this) is the data footprint. The one article mentions supeonas to social media providers/Google....also mentions her Fitbit. Obviously that takes time (and in missing people cases that isn't good...more time)...but you just think of all the info we have out there and how three could be clues (say a creep sent a weird fb message, liked a bunch of photos, etc). I know I'm weirded out when my phone tells me where I went in a day, Google may have those types of data points)
Crap, I thought they already were. It's been five days since she went missing. Maybe I just watch too much TV, but isn't there like a critical time frame where the victim is most likely to be found?
If the FBI is just now digging into the computer forensics as the article says they are it might be too little too late.
It was reported on Saturday that they were looking into her “digital footprint”. My guess is that they have already checked all of the basic things that we know about (social media, google, etc). With the FBI, there is probably technology that we have never even heard of that can be utilized.Crap, I thought they already were. It's been five days since she went missing. The Harlan/Avoca and Walnut stops would fit similar criteria to Brooklyn. I could see it.Death, Kidnapped, Sex Trafficking, or, best case scenario, dissociative identity disorder.
I've had a two separate woman friends in the Harlan/Avoca area who've been pulled over just off the interstate (both for speeding) but while the officer was getting their information, the officer asked both of them if they were victims of sex trafficking because there has been a high volume of incidents in the area.
Couple things that stick out as odd to me
- She wasn't missing for that long before she was reported missing
- They announced foul play isn't being ruled out almost the same time they told the public she was missing
I think the first hand-off was to the Iowa DCI.Crap, I thought they already were. It's been five days since she went missing. Maybe I just watch too much TV, but isn't there like a critical time frame where the victim is most likely to be found?

Pretty sure most would feel the same! I just wanted to highlight the change. If someone attacked my daughter wife spouse girlfriend Id want the attacker dead, not pepper sprayed or stunned. Of course all could be turned against the victim if not properly trained is the bad part .
why? I guarantee she could be snuck up on and put in a hold before she even thought to grab the gun. Even if she did try to grab the gun most likely the guy would be able to out muscle her for it.
My daughter has a stun gun, mace and this key chain with two sharp pokey things on it. Just yesterday she was walking somewhere in LA (middle of the afternoon) with earphones in listening to music (dumb on her part), walked by some guy putting gas in his dump truck who was staring at her, yelled something at her and then followed her for a bit.
