"We're gonna go inside, we're gonna go outside, inside and outside. We're gonna get 'em on the run boys and once we get 'em on the run we're gonna keep 'em on the run. And then we're gonna go go go go go go and we're not gonna stop til we get across that goal line!"
Somewhere in the Jacobson building there is a janitor and future walk-on Cyclone football player quoting this as well

I can all but guarantee that we will run a 3 man front unless we can't contain the run. If you can stop the run and force teams to throw into the 3-3-5 good things are going to happen and you can really disguise your pressure/coverage.

This game won't be close. This isn't a legit NDSU squad coming to ISU. This is SDSU squad that is lean on both lines and lost some of the best offensive weapons in program history. They are ranked as high as they are based on last years results.

I totally agree with this.

Their window closed last year and they've never been consistent. Christon isn't going to beat you by himself.

I actually think they'll finish 4th in the MVFC behind NDSU, UNI and Illinois State. They'll be in a tier with South Dakota and Western Illinois.

This week is taking such a long time. It will help to get to Thursday night to see real college football again (I didn't see this past weekend) at all.

As for the game itself, I see SDSU keeping it close for a quarter and a half or so with the Clones eventually pulling away. I'd like to see them get a lead just to experiment a little bit with lineups or packages.

Shouldn't you be hoping that our PK gets minimal playing time? A PK getting a lot of playing time against a FCS would not be a good thing, in the big picture.

From the standpoint our O didn't convert 3rd down, yes. But my ideal scenario is we win comfortably AND our FG kicker gets off 4-5 attempts in live game situations. My worst scenario is he’s got to line up his first ever collegiate attempt and it's a 45-yrd vs Iowa, in their stadium, with seconds remaining for a 'walk off' win.

I’ve tried to do some thread diggin’ here but nobody has any info, or coaches comments, how our FG kicker has been performing in pre-season camp. What’s his range? Etc – just very little reporting on his camp performance.

I think SDSU will be prepared and well coached but I also expect ISU to play smart and eventually wear them down. ISU pulls away with a couple second half scores and cruises to a 37-13 win.

Also, earlier you mentioned having a new kickoff guy but that isn't true. Francis did all the kickoffs last year and will be doing the same this year.

Haven't looked at the stats but someone somewhere mentioned that the SDSU QB threw a lot of INTs last year. Stop the run and get some pressure on him and good things will happen.

I can see this game going a lot of different ways with the good guys winning however I'm fairly confident 9 to 4 can be ruled out.
