This is a forum, we can have discussion on recruiting. It’s part of the reason this is here. Prohm has an eye for talent no doubt. Jackson was not his first choice for the position. We are all rooting for him to be great, some of us are just more skeptical while others have blind faith.

Of course he's not on record as saying that, but let's be realistic. At various points we were diligently recruiting Tyrell Terry, Tandy, Tre Mann, etc. I really don't think it's any slight to this kid to acknowledge that Prohm missed on a few guys before he extended an offer to Jackson. I'm sure he's aware of that himself.

If there is one thing to trust Prohm with, it is recruiting PGs. I like this pickup. The kid can shoot it and looks to have the tools necessary to be a good PG. Tandy seemed like he was waiting for bigger offers that aren't coming. Does anyone know if this kid played AAU ball this past summer? If not, that could be a reason for him being so under the radar. I know ISU watched him at a South Carolina event and that is when the offered.

I like this class a lot. Not sure why people are saying it isn't good. Leech who has 5 star potential and appears to be finally healthy. Anderson who is a stretch 4 and has some good offers and a PG in Jackson. Nice to be done this early as well. They can focus on looking at possibilities if Wigginton leaves.

Peterson's article uses "three known commits". May not mean anything or somebody may be waiting to make an announcement.

True that he was recruiting some guys before this but he wants him more than Tandy and the visit schedule shows that.

I'm not sure the order of visits is indicative of the Prohm's preference. If I were to guess, he prefers Tandy, but can't get anything firm from him, and also likes this Jackson kid and wasn't going to turn away his commitment.

It's not that uncommon for newspaper writers (think old school) to use the word "known" when talking commits.

These visits were scheduled close enough that if the coaches prioritized Tandy, I think they would have had Tre wait another week or so to let Tandy get his visit in and decide first.

Either that, or they had info that would lead them to believe Tandy wasn't ready to commit to ISU regardless at this point.

It will be interesting to see if he still visits.

Prohm didn't take a commitment from McKinley Wright two years ago. If he didn't really want Jackson, he wouldn't have accepted the commitment.

AAU team: Team South Carolina

The Fab 48 event in Las Vegas is where the staff first got involved with Tre Jackson.

Yeah, saw that he wasn't part of a sneaker team which explains part of why he is under the radar. They run the AAU circuits and if you aren't at the big sneaker events you don't get as noticed.

I'll be very surprised if he visits. Pleasantly so but VERY surprised.

I have no inside info. (duh)
