Quite frankly who cares how good the d was on 3rd down, they held TCU to 17 points. That's a good game for the d in my opinion.

I agree. But there were so so many missed tackles. Gotta clean that up.

It will be interesting to see how well this group hangs together. I think the character is there. Couple tough weeks ahead, get through those and it will look better.

People will still complain though.

Year 3, gonna keep growing

Every week......exactly, to the exact number, half of the football coaches lose and half win. It is exactly 50% to 50%. Do they all have a process to trust?....something has to give.

Scott Frost has a process too.

Butler is good, but teams are taking him out of the game. Somebody else has to step up

Fine, but at the end of the game there, I'd rather take my chances on a 50 yd fly pattern with Butler triple covered than I would with a 5 yd crossing route that takes 8 secs off the clock and basically does nothing for you in that situation.

Had we thrown a 50 yd jump ball in that situation to Butler or Eaton and it gets picked off, so be it. I'd at least give us credit for actually trying to win the game. What we were doing gave us absolutely ZERO chance at winning the game, or tying it. We didn't have time to dink and dunk down the field.

We had zero chance either way at that point.
Focus on what really cost us the game.

As much as I complain about the offense being 2003 bad, I better post about the defense. They are the best unit I think I’ve ever seen during my Iowa State fandom. I love watching them. Extremely well coached bunch and talented. Gotta give major props to Heacock and all the position coaches on defense.
