Way too long for me to read it all tonight. I know lawyers get paid but can't ISU get Jay up there for some $100/hr consulting? There is just no creativity or misdirection. I mean its not the draw up the middle three plays in a row era but we are getting close. None of the sets are used to actually set up another play.

Anybody see the Ravens throw a 3rd down pass to the lineman who lined up at Guard? Ya, he was open and I guarantee he didn't have 4.4 speed.

Outstanding analysis. Love his point about the offense developing the same kind of adaptability series to series that the defense has demonstrated.

If you're suggesting that ISU resort to this kind of gimmick on offense, things are worse than I thought.

If it's just to hit someone who's open and can get a 1st down, that's good.

Great analysis as always. It is frustrating watching other games throughout the day that run spread concepts and are infinitely more creative than Campbell’s offense has been.

It was their TE. He was just lined up in a different spot and behind the LOS.

Not exactly sure.

So we shouldn't run reverses, flea flickers, screens, or plays like that? Many times, what people consider gimmick plays are ones set up to exploit a weakness like an over aggressive blitz. I love the people who say we need to play "real" football. Those are people that usually think only running up the gut is true football. I consider real football is running an offense that will keep the defense more vanilla so you can exploit their weaknesses.

Great analysis, as always. I hate that I'm comparing our current OC to Courtney Messingham. But it's a fair criticism.

Are the Miami Huricanes at a disadvantage because Mark Richt is their HC and OC?

Just because some guys can do it doesn't mean Campbell can.

He's clearly a great HC. He's clearly a good OC (from his previous stint). He's clearly struggling to make mid-game offensive adjustment while trying to do his HC duties.

It's not that he isn't good at either of these things, but he's not doing a very good job of doing them at the same time, and we're in danger of not making a bowl because of it. Maybe he'll get it figured out by the end of the year, but I have little doubt that Tom Manning would have found enough points to beat Iowa and TCU given how our defense played.

Matt Campbell needs to take a good...long...look in the mirror this week and the 2 guys in the box helping with the offense need to have a sit down with CMC. it is literally like we just handed the play calling duties to Kirk Ferentz without the OL..Terrifying.

Running more under center...A occasional jet sweep to the WR in motion...2 backs in the backfield on rare occasion..TE drag routes...Slant passes...Oh and a QB that can actually keep the ball on zone reads every now and then.

We are doing none of these things and defense are just teeing off on DM and Zeb.
