Parking on campus is being offered as an alternative. Is it realistic to find spots in the Union garage or up by the business building?

You, the obviously wealthy alumni. It would be nice if we got that paved parking ramp and bridge from the intramural fields. That would be nice.

My donations go to stuff I enjoy, such as football. Since I don't usually tailgate I wouldn't earmark my donation to that.

It's hard to tell. We usually park at Forker and you can have little issue finding a spot 2-3 hours before a game. Now that is the closest public parking to the stadium and it's free.....I wouldn't count on it being available past 2PM.

We parked there for the TCU game last year when it was raining and probably got some of the last spots about 2 hours before game time. All the covered parking in the ramp was already taken when we drove through earlier that morning so we just did our "tailgate" at the Hy-Vee Market Grill then came back later to park and make the trek to Jack Trice in the rain. Looks like the rain is out of the forecast for now so this probably will make that lot harder to get into if you arrive later.

If you’re not a pass holder and are willing to part with some $$, what is the next best option to campus?

Yesterday I contacted the guy from the Haunted Forest lot. He said that they are planning on being open as long as it isn't too wet. My brother in law, who lives in Ames, drove by the lot on Monday and they had standing water in there.

Any way you could keep us updated on the Haunted Forest? I don't know anyway of knowing if it's open or not before we drive up.

Drive around the frats and sororities and see if they are charging people to park. Otherwise either the MU ramp or the one in campus town. Otherwise find a parking lot on campus that has is free on the weekends or side streets west of the stadium.

Sadly when they have to do things like this there is just not a lot of options.

I drove by this AM, still standing water in the middle. Since I can see the water from the street, I imagine it will have to get a lot warmer and windier for the Haunted Forest to dry out by Saturday.

I was planning on parking in Drive Ames. The owner said he will open his lot at around 9 or 10 Saturday morning for people to park in. He is doing $20 per vehicle.

I think CyRide will travel to these locations. Not sure if there is a fee to ride.

Yes, you can ride Cy Ride but it will only get you to Lincolnway & Beach. It would be nice of Iowa State altered the route for a few hours and had a drop off further south on Beach. Having young kids, that walk just isn't an option...

Has anyone done the public RV parking on Mortenson before? Trying to find out if they have a shuttle or trolley to JTS. Have not received an answer back from the athletic dept.

Park at Molecular Biology and enjoy the 30 minute walk across campus. Lot 27, 28, 29, 30, 33 are all free on the weekends. View attachment 58876 View attachment 58875

You might try Lots 41 or 68 by Agronomy Greenhouses (hidden north of the power plant). I've parked there before when getting late to an ISU-Iowa game. Plus its only a ~20 min walk or so. I think all the General Staff yellow lots are free on the weekend.

Naw, man - he's calling you out for the endless blathering about how quickly things could dry out, and the insistence that grass lots would be fine by this weekend.

I know what he is doing. ISU doesn't want to use the lots this week. That is their call.

The thing that really confused me for the SDSU game and wet lots. The Large grass lot to the east of 14th they were using the low lying areas and not parking people on the higher hill part of the lot.
