Even if Self is fired, they'll just hire the best coach in America not at a blue blood and KU will be back.. Just look at how well Louisville is recruiting right now

Self is a freaking great coach/cheater. This will knock them down a bit. Roy sure as **** wasn't as successful as Bill at KU.

Let's see how this plays out. If there is more dirt, does KU fire Self?

Big news.

On Sept. 19, 2017, three days before Kansas announced that it had agreed to a 12-year, $191 million contract extension with Adidas, Gassnola texted Self and thanked him for helping the sponsorship deal get done.

Self responded: "I'm happy with Adidas. Just got to get a couple real guys."

Gassnola replied: "In my mind, it's KU, bill self. Everyone else fall into line.
Too [expletive] bad. That's what's right for Adidas basketball. And I know I am RIGHT. The more you win, have lottery pics [sic] and you happy. That's how it should work in my mind."

Self responded: "That's how ur works. At UNC and Duke." Gassnola replied at Kentucky as well.

"I promise you I got this," Gassnola wrote. "I have never let you down. Except Dyondre lol. We will get it right."

Holy Crap; if I was Juror, those quotes ain't no smoking gun....that's DNA, eyewitness and camera photos of Billy at the crime scene :)

You all don't understand how this works.

NCAA to retroactively allow up to $1,000,000 in recruiting payments per season.
With retroactive being the main word. They will then close that hole so no one else can benefit but KU is clear due to the retroactive proclamation.

Problem is this is the only time he got caught. There were dozens before this. Unless a statement is made "You're Fired" it will continue. It stains the entire university and places doubt on all the wins they have under Self. If this was an ISU Coach Pollard would terminate the coach. The university is more important than the coach.

Ku athletics is driven by men's hoops. Even more so than K-State by football. Naturally, they are going to do everything within their power to protect it. To put it in perspective, AFH with its 15k seats generates $4 million more in tickets sales revenue than Bill Snyder Family Stadium averaging 50k. This is a huge financial matter for Ku that goes beyond Adidas buying players for Self.

Paging "randomfan44"..........

Can't wait to see his spin on these breaking developments. I'll bet on the "Everyone else is doing it" defense.

Or maybe, "Since there is not video evidence of Self putting cash directly into a recruits hand this proves nothing."

I know a little about the DJ Jeffries recruitment from a stand point if I can’t say. I’ll say that DJ is making his decision between Miss, Ole Miss, and Memphis. Memphis should be the school but the other two are throwing around money in my opinion. Kansas I think had to back off so to the recent adidas problems with the ncaa.
