Fodder for conversation this week. Every fan-base has its delusional fans and those who cannot see beyond the color of their school colors...however,...some have a higher percentage of this.

I found this little post of opinion via the TTU board that I am a member of. Imho, the opinion asserted is almost sad.

Carry on..

At least one of them gets it:

Houston adds that without the recent scandal, without the religious headaches, with a bigger city, and similar fan support. We are a higher ranked institution than they are, but they have an active goal of improving academics. I feel like our active goal is to keep from being sued into oblivion.

If there’s one expansion team less desirable than ISU it’s Baylor, ha ha!

I feel like we’ve overtaken Baylor, Kansas and Kansas State in that talk recently, just in the Big 12.

I would agree, and KU may think they are immune because of their basketball program, but it didn’t stop UConn from falling into a worse conference. Future is going to be driven by internet streaming and a program like us will be desirable.

Some of their fans even suggesting the BIG or PAC are completely delusional... Academicslly they would be laughed at.. not to mention their religious affiliations for the PAC would not even look at Baylor.

Oh absolutely, without a doubt. I think it’s best for everyone, Texas included, even though they probably refuse to acknowledge that.

No other school has more control over a conference without actually domintating the win-loss column. I’d be more worried about keeping OU happy, but they’re nuts if they think they can have the same success in the SEC.

Some of the commenters in that thread have above-average self-awareness.

I'd love to see them go though. Give me Houston or Cincinnati any day over BU.

Their brand to other conferences is probably "Rape / Cover-up, Baptists, private, small fan base". Good luck selling that one.

Wow, I guess they don't understand the Big 12 is treating them this way because they are a horrible, scandalous institution that has had multiple 'incidents' over the last decade. And no, no other conference wants to put up with your BS, so stop dreaming about that. You should count yourself and your tarps lucky you are not in the Sun Belt.

It’s like they don’t even realize if not for the Big 12 taking them in, they probably would be in the FCS right now.

Houston and Cincinnati would be a solid team to bring into the Big 12, but I also like Arkansas. No particular reason, except they are in a solid geographical location for the conference, but I think they are also a school with a decent basketball team and football has the facilities, but they just can’t seem to get over the hump yet. I’d like to have them
