I thought Snyder would pull a Wisconsin-Ryan-Gard.

Bo Ryan wanted Greg Gard as his replacement. Wisconsin didn't. Ryan quit at a time they couldn't replace him so they were forced to promote Gard to interim head coach. Ryan was right and Wisconsin officially promoted Gard after the season.

Snyder wants his son Sean as the coach. K-State doesn't. I figured Bill would quit just before the season when he couldn't be replaced. K-State would have to promote someone and maybe they'd choose Sean (associate head coach right now) and then he'd have a chance to prove himself and get K-State to hire him.

Right on. Didn't Bob Stoops do something similar? Quit right before the season started.

Yep it is pretty much the same thing too. Forgot about that one.

Google says Bob stepped down around June 7th. Pretty much impossible to replace a college coach that time of year.

Stoops was turning it over to one of, if not the most sought after offensive minds in the game, who was young, in demand and ready to go. Snyder is trying to strong arm his kid, who hasn't been very special in any aspect other than wearing pleated pants. I don't think this is a like situation.

Take it FWIW but I’m hearing Snyder is gone. He is making one last plea to AD for his son to take over as coach.

Been hearing more and more talking heads saying he should do the right thing by KSU and retire. But it better not be our last game when he makes the announcement! Take your Cyclone beating like a man - a really old, fragile and historically significant man who has my undying respect for his accomplishments as a football coach.

If he does, they'll announce it this week to maximize attendance for their last two home games.

What will be cool (if all this pans out) is other than their very recent record, he will retire at the top of HIS game and not under a cloud of pedo or rape suspicion like some other recent icons. Looking at you paterno.

The boos would start before opening kickoff and last all game if that joker was officiating the KSU vs ISU game. Of all the bs the Clones have put up with over the years, that was the worst.

It's just degrees of shittyness at some point but Mike Defee, his extra smedium ref shirt, and the non fumble on the goal line against Texas a few years ago would like a word.
