And how does Ohio State move up one in the coaches poll after struggling with Nebraska at home?

That's exactly what I have been thinking will inexplicably happen.

I'm not exactly advocating for UCF in the playoff, but they can move down two spots when they blow out a much better team than Nebraska.

The Cyclones and Illini barely exist in the QC from the Times point of view (despite the fact the ISU following in the QC is growing). ISU could win the Big 12 Championship game and go to the Sugar Bowl and it would be a stunner if the Cyclones showed up below the fold on the front page of the sports section.

Same with The Gazette. There would still be 3 pages about what Iowa did for practice on 12/1.

**** Iowa. They shouldn’t be in the top 25 CFP teams, let alone be ahead of us.

I'm certainly no Iowa fan, but they are like 3 plays away from being 9-0. Their schedule has been garbage, but I can understand their ranking.

Is it possible they are writing articles that the majority of their audience wants to read about? I don’t understand why there is so much anger about newspaper articles. If you arent satisfied with the content your local newspaper provides, there are other options.

...why? Iowa won the head-to-head, has one more win overall, and ISU has the "worst" loss between the two teams. They are right next to each other in the rankings which makes sense.

Funny that you don’t include the strength of schedule, best win between the two, and ISU’s first game being cancelled.
I mean, an Iowa fan would never do that on purpose...

Hey, do the mods know that mj’s account has been hacked by a Hawkeye fan and using it to post typical Hawkeye fantasies?

Their schedule hasn't been garbage at all. It was top 30 last I saw. You're better than that mj.

Including a game that wasn't played wouldn't make sense, but for argument's sake if it was included it would hurt your SOS.

Iowa has as much reason to be ranked ahead of ISU based on the reasons I gave as ISU does based on the reasons you gave. Ultimately they're neck and neck which seems about right.

It would hurt the SOS but would it still be better than Iowa? Yes. So both would have the same record, and one team would have played a harder schedule and have a better win.
Like I said, an Iowa fan would never leave that info out on purpose.
