What are your prognostications on how we go 3 and out to start the second half?

1st down - DM run off left tackle for 2 yard gain
2nd down - Pass out to Jones in the flats over his head
3rd down - Hook pattern to Butler at the sticks, hits his chest and then the ground. Or he is interfered with and no flag.

Gonna go with e RPO that all possible ball carriers involved look unsure on 1st down and I don't think Butler on the hook happens either. Probably something that takes a long time to develop with the receivers way past the sticks and Purdy getting sacked by about 3 guys.

KSU's secondary will be tighter this half so lofting up a punt/pass won't be there.

Their offensive scheme will look brilliant too.

based on all the hype, I think we though this was going to be a "gimme"....mentally not there.

I assumed it would be a loss. People have been unsure considering how bad the defense has been and stupid things happen against kstate.

Missing enyi...just a major drop off with the backup there, since he went out people are attacking 89 relentlessly...huge problem, not sure it is fixable this year

Really can’t have a weak link on the line if you going to play 3 down linemen

89 really a 3rd down pass rush guy and he’s being asked to stop the run

Game plans have to evolve over the course of a season...on both sides of the ball. Coaches don’t get paid what they get paid to allow the same **** to be successful over and over again. Maybe if you are a team full of 5 stars that just out athlete everyone, we will never be that.

This. Seems like we haven't changed our game plan in 5 games.

Not sure what to say. So freaking disappointing.

The play calling (both sides) for us is just absolutely baffling. Or our guys have just given up. Or some of both.

But mostly, coaching -- really, I think K-State has learned from others and has our defense figured out. And their coach is patient enough to execute against our weaknesses properly.

For some hair-pulling reason, we can't adjust during a half. We seem to have to let it happen and make adjustments only at halftime, or between games, never during a half.

Let's at least HOPE some halftime adjustments are made.

The play calling on offense has been fine, scoring on 3 out of 4 drives.

For some reason something has changed with the play calling and adjustments over the past few weeks. Where we were really good for a span in the middle, it’s regressed to where it was at the beginning of the year after the Tech game. Our defense is struggling, mostly in part due to injuries but it’s inexcusable

2nd down - Montgomery up the middle for loss of 1.
3rd down - Pick six.

We will, but they'll keep it close and then win on a hail mary, because that's the only gut wrenching way they haven't beat us yet

I always hear we are multiple or want to be. Then why a 3-man front the entire first half? Seems like we could use some more beef in there to stop the running game on 1st & 2nd down.

Like the option & I hope we get Montgomery on the edge a lot more. ****

Another observation: K-State runs the same kinda plays every single time they run the ball. Why can’t we defend this? We don’t even attempt to take out the lead blocker

The defense hasn't been the same since we lost Uwazurike. Lack of pressure allows teams to exploit the middle of the field, which opens up the run.

Really baffled on the pass interference call. Feels like another screw job in the making.
