I'm a huge Parrish fan but he's way off here. Fred hated recruiting. He's still going to have to recruit wherever he would go.
I looked at the mentions of that tweet and pretty much every person was reminding Parrish of this fact haha. I am a fan of his also, but he's probably on the wrong side of the fence on this one.

Firmly entrenched. He was just saying what ISU fans wanted to hear.

He didn't say it to fans. Trust me on this one, unless things drastically changed (which is possible) he will never be a college head coach again. He doesn't even like coaching

I think there is more truth to this than we want to admit (plus Parrish is well keyed into the college coaching scene):

Add in his flirtations with Minnesota back in the day and the smoke around him and Ohio State last year...

Parrish might know something we don't but I'll believe Fred wants to be a college coach again when I see it. If he does, so be it. I'm more than happy with where we're at now. I am a little surprised we don't have any posters seriously making a case to fire Prohm immediately so Fred can come back.

Parrish knows more than the average fan so I'm not sure he'd just throw something like this out there. I think the recruiting thing was overblown (and a coping mechanism for us).

I guess time will tell - but I could definitely see him being back in college.

Some rumblings about him having interest in UCLA, I still doubt he lands back in college - at least right away.

I don’t think Fred will be active for a couple years at least. He’s going to stay home. That home is probably Minnesota I would guess.

I will ask my grandma though she can ask the Hoiberg’s.

will be really interesting to see if he takes another college job. the media experts in cbb seem to think he'll go back to college.

i think that would be so tough to go from all the nba perks back to "roughing" it in college.

After seeing Fred's last recruiting class and Prohm's recent one, I hope not many would want that.

I love Fred for everything he did at Iowa State. But I also look at see that we have 5 NBA guys and a handful of oversees pros that we had - and he had one Sweet 16 to show for it.

When will the Bulls fire Jon Paxon and Gar Foreman? The Bulls situation is 100% their fault. It's a joke.

Hey Fred, come be an associate AD and fundraise at ISU!!

Yeah because he LOVED shaking hands, slapping backs and kissing babies?

His youngest boys relocating again may be a factor on where he lands. Maybe he chills in Chicago a bit. Maybe he takes the Illinois job. :)

I could see Fred going back to college if it was a "turn key" type of job, not something he'd have to rebuild. Or, going to Michigan State as an assistant to be with his son.

Like many have said, could also just fade into a VP job in NBA if he wanted to work. Not sure I see him going the assistant NBA coach route.

If he were ME, he'd take some time to count all the money he had and just chill out. :)
