I think the whole “hate recruiting” thing was for cover when he left here. Everyone bought it, so it worked. Fred told everyone what they wanted to believe, not necessarily the truth.

No, thats what you want to think to fit your obsessive narrative. Fred’s gonna go to KU to be co-coach with $elf, right?

Weird timing. They have had Dunn, Portin and Markannen out all year so far. Thought that they would wait and see how the team did when everyone was healthy. This is just the front office trying to save face with the fan base. Because 5 wins with the guys they have been playing really isn't bad.

Remember when CW said he basically had an article written about Fred coaching at Ohio State? And then Fred said that was false? There was a reason why CW thought about writing that and it wasn’t because he thought there was no chance Fred would coach in college again.

The “hates recruiting” line was always ******** to placate Iowa State fans and most of them bought it. He never hated recruiting as much as he didn’t like coaching at Iowa state. And that’s understandable. It was a fish bowl for that family. He’ll take another college job at a more perforable school.

You've pretty much been wrong with every Fred take you've ever said. Why would this be different?

He never stood a chance in Chicago. I've heard Reinsdorf is cheap but how Paxson and Forman have survived yet another failed coaching hire is beyond me. How many opportunities do those two idiots get?

It wasn't and he said it when he thought he was off the record even to non ISU fans

I think Fred lost a couple high profile guys when someone came out of nowhere with a bunch of cash. Based on the FBI investigation there was a lot of "involvement" from boosters and shoe companies going on, probably still going on. The cheaters are never going to have to pay of course, because, unlike ISU, they are connected.

Fired? Good. His hate of recruiting was obvious based on the fact that he left the cupboard practically empty when he left (see last year's upperclassmen roster and this year's senior roster not counting transfers). He saved us from the McDermott debacle, but other than that, he screwed us over more than once...Enjoy your money, Fred....

His friends didn’t do him any good. But frankly, he wasn’t that good any way. It’s not like his ****** teams over achieved. His strengths in college were not strengths in the NBA. He just wasn’t a good NBA coach.

What does this have to do at all with my post. I said I don't think firing Hoiberg to save money makes sense, because they still have to pay him.

Rashad Vaughn is the reason Fred will never be a college head coach again

It’s media members far more connected than any of us saying he’ll be back in college coaching. I’m an idiot fan, but it’s not like I’m the only one thinking this.

it wasn't a 25MM buyout. Just 25MM guaranteed over 5 years... he is at half way through year 4.

Gotcha. So let me switch that to wanting to party with still incredibly wealthy, on a drinking binge because he's failed at something for the first time in his life, Fred.

Did he sleep with your wife or something? You sure seem to have a lot of animosity towards him.
