He has an NBA-level finishing ability around the rim no question about it. Will he be able to defend an NBA 2 guard? And can he develop a consistent outside shot? Those are the 2 questions I'd want to get answered before drafting THT. I think he'll be here 2-3 years because of those last 2 questions.

The same question can ask to RJ Barrett. Does it mean RJ Barrett will be 2-3 year?

Wouldn't surprise me. NBA drafts on potential, and he certainly has it. Plus just turning 18 is also a plus in the eyes of the NBA

I think it is quite interesting that another thread CBS sports listed THT as 8th best freshman, nobody doubt the ranking or complain about it. But when THT listed as potential 1st round pick in 2019, so many people claim THT is not worthy a 1st round pick.

Should 8th best freshman in nation deserve a 1st round pick? I remember every year there are more than 8 freshman get picked in 1st year. So why THT can be 8th best freshman but cannot be 1st round pick?
Is it really that interesting? College basketball’s top freshmen list is hardly the same as the top draft pick list. You may have heard of a guy named Georges?

And you’re wrong, several doubted the freshmen ranking. He’s not even the best freshmen at ISU. I think it’s reversed- I’d have him lower on the freshmen list than I would a freshmen draft prospect list.

Please share the links that Georges Niang is top 8 nation freshman in the season... I cannot find..

It is certain your right to not believe in THT though most media buy his stock.. It reminds me North Carolina Tar Holes fans keep saying Nassir Little is multi year guys and no team will choose him in 1st round. Roy bench him because he is bad...

NBA drafts on potential... THT age as much as it helps him with being drafted also does help isu in that if he stayed another year he would enter 2020 draft 19 yrs old.. that’s still a pup..

I think once a couple scouts raved about him in Maui it just took hold with all these sites.. but THT def has NBA potential no doubt..

Will be interesting to see how he finishes season 3pt shooting..as that will be looked at heavily imo. He’s not quite athletic enough imo yet but maybe they don’t care..

Crazy to think Prohm has recruited 2 guys (in short tenure) that are so good they could both leave after this year as fresh/soph. And people used to think he wouldn't be able to recruit here...

and Leech could be the next in line...

(assuming he's fully recovered from his injuries.)

What a time to be a Cyclone Fan.

It's a great time. Decent football team in the Alamo Bowl and a basketball team that has the ability to get back into the NCAA tourney.

It's unfortunately also a time when some think that it's top 4 seed or bust or that the expectation should be a conference title since that hasn't happened in almost 20 years.

and the Football team has 2 potential first round picks. Lot of time for things to change for both programs but ISU's MBB/FB are progressing to unknown frontiers on a talent front.

If this team has 2-3 NBA players on it, potentially a couple of first rounders, you're damn right it's conference title or bust. How could it not? KU isn't putting out an NBA all star team, nor is Texas or Tech. Any college team with multiple future NBA players on it should be fighting for tops in their conference.

Don’t worry, he’ll be one of the biggest detractors if they hit a rough patch. Remember how he couldn’t handle CMC’s 6 wins is BS comment?

My guess right now is Talen will be one and done. Really just a testament to how good he is and how much potential he has in the NBA. I think he really gets hot in March which will seal it. I will enjoy this year though, because I think we accomplish big things.

NBA drafts on potential...this team is still young and learning the game.

If it were next season and everyone's back, the expectations would be higher.

Right now just finish in the top half of the conference and get in the tourney. Anything more is gravy.
