I'm still excited about ISU future but if people think we are just going to replace those guys think they are sadly mistaken. Those are "DUDES", maybe at Bama or Ohio State it's just next guy in and there is not much of a drop off but at Iowa State think it will be a different story unfortunately.

Hopefully though some guys step up and prove me wrong.

Purdy is to blame for some of that. Butler is a freak, no denying that. But it seems Purdy is not as comfortable throwing to the other guys. Milton disappeared once Kempt went down. Purdy forced a lot of passes to Butler that should have gone elsewhere. Butler returning or not, I suspect Purdy will be better distributing the ball next season.

Come on our team will be better next year either way. We’re playing more underclassman now than ever before. CMC is bringing in talented recruiting classes like we haven’t seen in a long time. We have quality depth throughout the roster. The future of ISU football is bright, as long as Campbell is our coach.

I am concerned that next year will be disappointing without them. I don't see us challenging for a conference title without them, unless several players REALLY REALLY step up. Someone cheer me up and convince me I am wrong.

We signed 3 stud RBs and one will be the next great Cyclone back. I'm hoping Hakeem comes back, but it's probably unlikely. He'll be tougher to
replace IMO, but I trust CMC will find the guy that can do it. We thought we'd be lost without AL.

We have 2 very good TEs that are more than capable of being effective..

It starts with QB...when you have a stud QB you can do a lot.. Purdy makes mistakes but kid is a rising star..

WASU lost 13 starters from last year and just won 12 games..

We return a ton on 2 deep..

I think Butler gone but it wouldn’t shock me to see Montgomery stay believe it or not.. He should go but it wouldn’t surprise me if he stayed..

Montgomery shouldn't be allowed to stay. Go get paid.

“DUDES”? Then I’m pretty sure that Matt Campbell has started a Dude Ranch.

Breece Hall will be a dude. Should help ease the blow of losing Monty. Hopefully other guys can step up without Hakeem

Well, we have Purdy. And a great foundation on defense. I like our chances.

Monty and Butler don't need to be 99% of the Offense nor should they be. However, it was clear this year with the guy calling plays is that Monty and Butler is all he knew.

Next year could be a disappointment if Campbell is calling plays. However, we have the line and players if the play caller changes next year. We'll see

To get to the next level of program still think it comes back to how much we can improve on OL. Until that happens we can be good but won't reach that upper tier/conference champion type level.
Agree, but next year will help with our freshman center matures as a sophomore, and I also believe there are 1-2 freshman now that can steal a starting spot next year. If next year we just become an average OL, we are going to be really good.

I think one or maybe even both stay. Maybe it’s me being optimistic but I really feel like one of them will stay. Not sure who I feel will be the most likely to stay. Maybe both!
