It was an effort to be proud of. But 3 losses against teams they were better than make me wonder what could have been.

*if you asked me to give a grade for 8-5 when we were 1-3 it would be A+, but we are getting spoiled by the team and process.

I am on record of saying I thought they would make the Big12 champ game. With all the adversity at the beginning of the season and finding when to put Purdy in, I gave it a B+. Next year should be in the drivers seat for the big12 Champ game and that is my expectation.

Kind of a deal where a couple of losses may have been needed to really get some good situations to learn from.

Once again they peaked in October, and then November went better which is obviously something that has not generally happened historically.

Would be nice to have things rolling a bit to start next year and have the whole product be better.

Went with a B+. TCU loss (which wasn't seen as a bad loss at the time) and close escape against Drake kept it from being A-. Making Conf Champ game would be an A. Disappointed we didn't get to see Mike Warren and Kyle Kempt most of the game against Drake in a romp.

Having an established QB and defense are key.

There will be some major holes to fill on offense but the line should be better and playmakers in line for the opening.

Strange beginning and ending with plenty of drama in between. First game cancelled. Last game probably should've been. KK is a one and done. Noland abandons ship mid season and the guy who probably should’ve started all along finally gets the nod. DM gets dinged up and suspended, missing several quarters. HB makes sensational eye-popping grabs and drops routine tosses. Little or no offense against Iowa or TCU, explode for 30 points against WV. Overcame a 17 point deficit to K-State, squeaked by Drake. Just for entertainment sake, I’d give them an A-.

B+ just because I know Coach wants a tough curve. O line and special teams offset an A to A+effort on defense.

B- :

Too many special teams mistakes. Turnovers. Penalties. Eliminate the mistakes and we have 2 if not 3 more wins this season.

Win the bowl game and I'd bump it to an A.
Slow start to the season, but had a shot to play in the CCG late, got the Snyder monkey off our back. Great season, but always room for improvement

Great year. But not beating TOE and losing bowl game takes it down a peg. And Texas still the team that Matt Campbell has not defeated.

Cannot take away from the great games and performances this year otherwise. And everyone is still excited about next season which is always important.

Agree on the slow start. CMC is Mr. October. When I told my wife I’d prefer he become known as Mr. September, she suggested Mr. January. I like her thinking!

Lost to Iowa.
Lost to TCU which would have been a win with any kind of offensive plan.
Almost lost to Drake!!
Didn't make the Big 12 Championship game.
Lost an entertaining but frustrating bowl game in which a complete lack of fundamentals lost us the game.

It was still a very good season and I'm excited to be in position to compete for a Big 12 Championship next year.

With the slow start to the season, some bumps along the way to go to a bowl as good as the Alamo Bowl. We outperformed my season aspirations. Amazed how quickly Campbell & Co are making ISU FB good again.
