Pop quiz:

Tech and Kansas are tied for first. Last game of the year is ISU vs Tech.

If Iowa State beats Tech then KU wins the conference.
If Tech wins they'll win the conference.

What's more important?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I want ISU to end the streak. KU can win 100 straight and I'm OK.

Honestly I think winning this thing is about one game. ISU @ Kst. Win that and we can survive one slip up the rest of the way. Lose and we can't overcome the tiebreaker.

As for the sunflower series KU winning in Manhattan would be a huge lift that could put them back on track. Which is the last thing any of us want.

Cheering for KSU. Need to pump as many bullets into Kansas as possible to ensure they don’t get back up.

This is the truth. KU needs to take as many losses as possible.

It hasn't happened yet this year yet, but there will come a game or two where they get to run from half court without dribbling the ball for a game winning layup... or they plow over a guy on a desperation drive down two and the guy getting trucked gets called for a loose ball foul only to have them tie it up... etc. etc.

Eff them. I want us to win it, but if it can't be us, so be it.

My big problem with the situation is the fact that apparently we are the only team in the conference that doesn't consistently pee their pants when they see that chicken on their shirt when they play against them. I'm not holding my breath on KSU winning. They gag like mad.

Yes, it makes it all the better when it's Iowa St breaks it.

At this point, what is the huge problem with KU winning it? Of course we all hate them, but let's be honest they are, and have been, a superior program within the conference, and nationally. Other than shutting up some national pundits, and annoying little brother fans, the streak really has no effect. Except that it's 15 years straight that Iowa St hasn't won the conference.

Starting to think this is a 3 team race for Big 12 title. Who do we want to win the game Tueaday night? I personally think were pulling for these teams to split their head-to-head matchups. Even though KState is up a game think I'll be rooting for them Tuesday night as I dont see them winning in Lawrence.
KSU at home, for sure. If KU wins at KSU they are in just too good of a spot. We can take care of KSU (don't think we will...) but have no more effect on KU.

Tech won't be in sniffing distance of the title even though I like your quiz.
Answer: No way I travel to Hilton to root for my guys to lose.

This "streak needs to end" stuff makes no sense to me. Yeah, it needs to end if WE end it. Whoever does end it will get a nauseating amount of pub. If it's not ISU, I don't want to hear it. I damn sure don't want to hear it if it's little brother from Manhattan. After all the great teams ISU has had over the past 15 years, ANYBODY but us dethroning KU is gonna piss me off.

Did I miss something? Is Baylor not in contention? I don't care if we have to tie for the title as long as we aren't tied with KU.

Why does anyone care about "the streak" It's the dumbest thing out there. The regular season is just for seeding in the Big 12 tournament. If Texas had won the Big 12 Championship game over Oklahoma would anyone be saying, "Yeah, but Oklahoma was the regular season Big 12 champion." I'll root for KSU as I have more confidence in them slipping up somewhere than Kansas. Heck just win out and ISU is guaranteed a tie at worst for the mythical regular season champion.

Yes they would. The regular season title is much more important.

I could make an argument that the conference tournament is more “important” but the regular season title is the title that absolutely matters in determining who the conference champion is and, at least in terms of P6 conferences, is the one people care about.

It’s definitely much harder to win the regular season title. I’ll be honest but winning in the conference tourney means you have to get hot for 3 days. Regular season is a marathon.

I think I’m smaller conferences the argument is bigger because winning the regular season title is not a guarantee that you get into the tourney, but as a big conference team, I 100% think winning the regular season title is better (though it’s still fun as hell to win the conference tournament.)
