Well I definitely plan on seeing him live at some point and I will go nuts for Decoration Day. How often does he come around Iowa or at least within a few hours drive of the Ames area?

Not sure...I'd assume by now he'd maybe play in a good sized theater in Des Moines or so if he comes through the midwest.

He was up in Sioux City for the Saturday in the Park festival this past summer. The last time he was in Des Moines was about two years ago at Hoyt Sherman. I have no insider info here, but just based on recent lineups I would guess that he'll eventually be a part of the Hinterland festival.

If you're able... the perfect seat at Red Rocks is Row 38. The sound system is focused around dead-center row 38. It's worth getting there early just to get to those seats.

Interesting perspective. I'm in row 40 tomorrow night for The National.

I've always thought the sound was best in about row 25.

Anyone else planning on picking up tickets to Weezer/Pixies at WFA? I've seen Weezer twice and Pixies once, it should be a great combo show:

http://www.iowaeventscenter.com/events/detail/weezer-and-the-pixies

I saw this show twice this summer. Once in Dallas, once in Phoenix. Awesome show. It's always fun the see The Pixies. And Weezer is an entertaining show every year and they can be counted on to basically run through their iTunes top hits. And the covers they do this year is a lot of fun (especially the Oasis cover) as Rivers goes scootin.

We saw Pixies just this summer, too (at Hoyt Sherman). The first time we each saw Weezer was when they were at Hilton in the early 2000s, and then again in the summer of 2017 down in KC. You nailed it - Pixies just crushed through their set list and blasted an awesome wall of sound, and I LOVE Weezer covers! Admittedly "Africa" has always been a bit pretentious to me when Toto does it (which makes for good kitsch), but I'm glad that Weezer is getting airtime with the cover!

Gary Clark Jr. will be playing Stir Cove on August 8th. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 am. Desperately hoping to get this before it sells out.

Jason Isbell and Father John Misty are playing the Armory in Minneapolis on June 14. Tickets on sale Friday at 10 am. Presale tomorrow at 10 am with code FJMISBELL.

Does anyone here have fan presale access to Stir Cove?

I have one from his fan club/mailing list that I'm going to try to use - Gary2019 is what I'm going to attempt.

I've been near Father John Misty about four different times and have been incredibly bummed to miss him each time. :(

Great! Now to figure out if I'll actually be in Iowa that week. If not, I have some friends that will really appreciate it. Thank you!

I just picked up a couple tickets to see Berlin in Nashville in July. We just happen to be there that weekend and they are headlining a club. Always wanted to see them when they were "current," but they'd broken up by the time I was old enough to go to concerts on my own. Two original members are back with the lead singer, so this is kind of a reunion tour with a new album as well. :)

From 37 years ago, "Masquerade"

They're a blast. Very energetic and skilled. And they pick up the whole crowd with their enthusiasm. When I saw them last summer they all looked like they were really having fun on stage, and it's easy for the crowd to get swept up in that. Enjoy the show!

Did you have a presale code or something? I was just looking at tickets and the site I got sent to through the band website says tickets don't go on sale until tomorrow.
