Uh Melvin ejim

When are we hanging Fizer and Tinsley's jersey's? I don't know who is in charge of this but who was the last person to have their jersey hung? Hoiberg?
I agree, Melvin would seem to be deserving, as others have stated Fizer and Tinsley didn't graduate and I don't mind keeping that requirement moving forward (if it is actually a thing).

I could be wrong, but I believe you must graduate from Iowa State to be eligible for this honor. I don't believe Tinsley ever graduated. I'm less certain about Fizer.

I don't know if it is accurate but found an older Iowa State daily article that said there are no formal requirements.

I think a simply review of some of the posts will show you that at least 10-15 regular posters on here hate him with a passion.

There might be a few posters that actually dislike Fred for how he left. I would guess most posters that "hate" Fred don't like how Prohm is criticized by those that only show up when we lose.

Why shouldn't Fred visit his Alma Mater? After all, he has plenty of time on his hands right now.

There isn't a single reason why he shouldn't come back and visit. CSP obviously invited him back to speak at some point this season. It speaks well to CSP and how secure he is.....a few posters should follow his cue instead of hating CFH and calling him the worst coach in the NBA.

And you can see the difference between those posters within this thread. Some are open about how they were pissed when Fred left. Other posters have six or seven posts talking about what a terrible coach he is.

Fans should hate GarPax more than any coach they've had recently. The moves they made while Hoiberg was coach were awful. Hoiberg had no control over the players on the roster. He was a $25M dead man walking.

You are debating with a Hoiberg-hater. Don't try to talk facts....he isn't interested.

This thread is like a therapy session for a dysfunctional group of people.

Bring one thing up and down the rabbit hole we go.

I'll be at the game so I don't have to worry about that
But I nearly always record the home games as well; sometimes it's tough to see the controversial calls/non-calls from the cheap seats (or why Huggy got T'd last time out, for example). At least I can ignore everything between the parts I want to review.

Do you think they could handle critiques after we win, too? I would guess some of them just can’t handle reading non-glowing posts at anytime. It must suck to be that miserable and sensitive in a good season, but it’s probably just PTSD from some dark Cyclone days of the 70’s and 80’s.

Eh I disagree, without ejim there is no niang or hoiball

That's an awfully dramatic conclusion.

Hoiberg was still going to be our coach. We were still going to play that style. Niang was still going to be great at ISU.

Loved Ejim, but Niang had a greater impact on the culture of Iowa State basketball. It's not tangible, but it matters.

Ejim and Hoiberg are the foundation of the resurgence. Niang doesn't matter nearly as much without Melvin setting the stage, and in Niang's accounts, setting Niang straight in practice following a nice headlock takedown of the freshman.

I don't see why some people are upset about this. I've seen a lot of chatter on Twitter about it. Fred and Carol's parents all live in Ames, Fred is Ames grown, went to Iowa State and coached. Why is him speaking to the team weird? He has NBA connections, and these players would love to speak to a guy like Fred Hoiberg. Some people just read too much into everything, and I honestly wonder how they function normally on a day to day basis.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Fred guy. I wasn't stoked about the way he left and never want him back as a coach (unless the program is in despair).

Probably the all-time Cyclone, we are just doing fine without him and I'm sure he feels the same way. I mean, he hated recruiting, blah, blah...

Totally agree!!!!!!
