Teams Youd Prefer to Avoid/See in NCAA Tournament

Iowa State is due for the year where they over perform and go farther than expected. I mean, has it ever happened? Usually they make it about as far as expected or not quite as far. That's going to involve beating some good teams.

I don’t want to matchup with Duke, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan State, or Florida State.

Personally I don't want any of the projected #1 seeds until as late as possible but I think we are destined for that 4/5 seed range and that's our own fault.

Lower seeded teams I want nothing to do with in our first game:
  • Lipscomb
  • Belmont
  • Wofford
  • Hofstra
Second game teams I would rather not face:
  • LSU
  • Florida State
Teams in general I don't want to face:
  • Syracuse
  • North Carolina

Yeah forgot about Syracuse. Style of play there wouldn't be fun. Florida State, eh, whatever. Depending on what the likely scenario happens, it would be the most ISU thing to be paired up against one of those lower seeded teams in the same region as Virginia and UK (as a 2 seed) if things fell even though they could be the 4th #1.

Lots of teams but I'd hate the ****show if ISU played Iowa again. Could ISU beat them? Sure.

But if they didn't...if you think Hok fans are bad now...

Wisconsin has been wildly inconsistent this year, much like us. Losing to teams they shouldn't or letting inferior teams at least keep it close.

I do agree that they'd be a tough matchup for us, but I wouldn't be super worried.

ISU and them are very similar teams in their experience and learning how to win after a bad 2017-18 season. It would be interesting.

Would be a nightmare to have our season end to them. We would hear about it for years.

Thing about Syracuse is they're also 91st in offense, so while the game would be a grind, the "good defense Cyclones" could/would/should shut them down, too.

I'd be glad for the selection committee to keep us far away from the potential storyline draw of ISU-Murray St matching up somewhere in the bracket. Murray St puts up some legitimate points, and Morant is an assist and scoring machine.

On Wisconsin
Wisconsin - This is another team that doesn't mind playing in the 60s. Happ would be a bad match-up for us.
Doesn't mind? We'd love that since that would be an offensive explosion for us. And Happ's really good, but when in doubt, foul. Because you have a better than 50% that he's going to miss.

But I really don't want Iowa State to play Wisconsin. Because it would be my childhood's and parent's favorite team going up against my favorite team.

Plus, hearing people on here complain about/**** on Wisconsin before, during, and after the game would definitely be annoying.

The only team I don't want to see in the tournament is the Iowa State B Team.
Got it in a split second before me!

If I am forced to answer this question, I'd say anyone with a legitimate frontcourt. Similar to the Purdue team that ousted us a couple years ago. Or anyone who is scrappy, under-talented, quick to loose balls, gets away with a lot of hand checking, ala your typical Huggy Bear WVU, this year's Baylor, or a UAB from '15.
