Lost it’s 16th game in a row tonight. They are 5-22 right now and likely will finish the year at 5-26. Are they one of the worst teams ever from a major conference? (Debateable if the Pac 12 qualifies as that anymore) I know Oregon State has had some historically bad teams recently.

Also looked like Darius McNeill lost his starting spot after some bad games. Tough year for him. His team is also 2-31 in the Pac 12 since he started playing there.

The warm weather and the $$$. were hard to beat.....winning doesn't matter. I remember watching his online announcement when we were in the running.......allegedly.

Makes you appreciate how good of a coach Mike Montgomery was on the west coast.

We were more than in the running. HE SIGNED WITH US. Any online announcement had him picking Iowa state. Iowa State has to allow him to esstentislly transger to Cal.

We allowed him to transfer without a redshirt.

It was like it never happened at all.

That is okay -- they suck, McNeill is bad, and we have Haliburton instead.

:)

Right. But the poster said something like “if he really did consider Iowa State”. He signed with Iowa state. He didn’t just commit to us. He just didn’t put us in his final 4. He signed.

ISU's 2017-2018 team probably finishes top 3rd of the Pac-12 this year.
That’s no joke. I’m thinking Washington and Arizona State are the only 2 for sure that would have been ahead. Really shows how truly awful Cal is to not even win a game in that conference.

Last place Cal knocked off 1st place (and 25th ranked) Washington in Berkeley last night, snapping a 23 game Pac 12 losing streak. I think this says more about Washington than it does Cal, quite frankly.

Washington is still safe with a NET of 32, but the PAC 12 better hope that someone upsets UW in the conference tournament if they want to get more than one team in the dance. The next PAC 12 teams in NET are Oregon and Az St at 67 and 68.

ISU's 2017-2018 team probably finishes top 3rd of the Pac-12 this year.

Iowa State was #89 in the country last season with an adjusted net rating per 100 of +10.44 (or 10.44 points better per 100 than the average CBB team).

Compared to the Pac-12 this season...

#45 Washington (+19.04)
#51 Oregon (+15.98)
#57 Arizona State (+14.92)
#63 Arizona (+14.37)
#74 Southern California (+12.51)
#75 Oregon State (+12.50)
#76 UCLA (+12.42)
#77 Colorado (+12.40)
#92 Stanford (+9.53)
#103 Utah (+8.60)
#174 Washington State (-1.23)
#212 California (-4.97)

For comparison, Iowa State this season is #12 with a rating of +28.05.

I lol'd at Cal. We would be favored by like 23 against them on a neutral court.

The Pac-12 is bad, but not that bad. Our team last year would have fought to be in the middle of the pack in the Pac-12 this year, but probably not for the top three.

On net rating alone, we would be #8.5 between Colorado and Stanford.

And they thought it was bad in 2012 when Washington won the conference and got the automatic bid... to the NIT.

Hell last year the conference didn't even survive until the first Friday of the tournament.
