He’s good at basketball. He’ll be here as long as he wants to be here — be it his 3rd violation or 30th.

You people saying he should be gone must be new to Iowa State athletics.

Key phrase being "as long as he wants to be here." I wouldn't bet on it yet it's not completely out of the realm of possibility that he and/or Wiggington explore transfer options. Wiggington in particular is watching his pro career--to the extent it was ever a possibility in the first place--flame out. It worked out pretty well for Shayock after all.

You said Iowa State fans threw him away because his nba career didn’t take off, which is quite a stretch. Most disagree with decisions he’s made off the court. I liked royce at Iowa State and appreciated what he did here, but I have absolutely zero respect for him after countless poor decisions he’s made since leaving.

What are your thoughts on talking **** to someone from a rival fanbase on Twitter re: their cancer?

Yeah the people piling on is way more that 1 or 2.

If you want further proof just look at any Royce White thread. Dude did nothing but good for ISU BB but people are butt hurt over what he hasn't done in the NBA so they turned on him.

Yep always safe to get a feel of an entire fanbase based on anonymous posts on a message board...

I’m disappointed in this one. I get wanting to win, I get wanting to help the kid, but there does come a point when enough is enough.

Cam has been given way more than enough opportunities to prove he’s getting it.

Do we know the circumstances yet? Being late or failing a test is not really grounds for dismissal. Getting lit before practice....different story.

P.s. not implying either of these is what happened

In a vacuum, a minor infraction wouldn’t be the end of the world.

But we are way way way beyond that now. It’s been a constant issue. Prohm has stuck his neck out for the kid because he’s a potentially great basketball player. If Cam still can’t figure it out after all that’s been provided for him, he’s not going to.

I sincerely hope he figures his shot out, grows up into a super productive human being. I just disagree about letting him come back this time.

CSP is a drama queen he’s always suspending people because it’s for their own good or builds character but in reality he just makes the situation worse then his teams stink. This is 2019 19 yr olds don’t respond well to heavy handed punishments. Time to get with the times I think. There are more ways to handle these situations.
I agree. He should have made the trip and started. That would show him who’s boss.

Yes, that’s the answer. A program runs best when you get rid of discipline.

Quote from RP's column, it might've been included in game wrap-ups, I hadn't seen it yet.

Interpret Prohm's assessment as you wish.

“(Lard has) done a lot of really good things, too," Prohm said. "I talked to him. I told him you know what sucks about this? I’m going to have to sit up there on Saturday, answering all these questions about you, and they don’t know you’ve done a pretty good job up to this point.”

Hate to look into it too much but what is 'pretty good'?

I took it to mean Lard had met the goals established last summer and early-season suspension period, to Prohm's satisfaction. Then Cam had a team-rules infraction, and SP knew speculation would fly, and, overall, the violation isn't major in isolation.

I "liked" your post in spite of you quoting from a Randy column. Ordinary that would get you a "dislike" but it is actually a Prohm quote so I am still good with that. ;)

Yesterday was Randy Pete's favorite day of Cyclone basketball perhaps ever.

ISU basketball is not a Tony Robbins seminar.

If his history is important and he cannot live up to expectations then he should not have played one minute this season. Now an important part of the team is gone in crunch time. Just brilliant management by Prohm here.

Dumbest Post of the Year nominee

It's going to be a close race this year.
