I think in conference is averaging just under 10 points a game. Only shooting 33% from 3 and 56% from the free throw line.

Someone on draft twitter went real in-depth with his shooting projections. His free throw percentage and 2-point jumpers percentage are not a good sign but he's able to compensate a bit by being a really good finisher at the rim. The overarching conclusion though is his lack of touch away from the rim is a concern that could take years to develop at the next level.

Yep.
Getting drafted on just under 9.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 26 minutes and 25% usage, is getting drafted on the viewpoint that he has the potential to significantly improve.

THT and Halliburton have incredible potential being so young. For them, playing in the B12 is just a little more advanced AAU. I can't see Halliburton going but definitely see THT.

Unfortunately LW didn't have the season he was hyped up to have. His FT shooting and turnover to assist didn't improve much which were freshman weaknesses. I think the injury just slowed him down so much and then the team kind of took off without him (and Lard to an extent).

So what happens if Wigginton declares and goes undrafted...?

Is he screwed/has to try to eek out a living in the D-League or go to Europe, or can he come back at that point assuming he only had a "lawyer" and not an agent?

The rules about this change so much for me.

I ask because I can see the above happening.

I would not blame Haliburton or THT for going now at all. It will be a rough road ahead for both of them, but that is going to be the case no matter what. The NBA is hard.

If LW signs an agent and doesn’t get drafted, his best option is to go to the G-league for at least a couple years and hope he shines and eventually signs a 2 way contract with an NBA team. At that point he will have a shot to impress an NBA team, but that shot to impress could be quite short.

If after a couple years he hasn’t gotten that opportunity, it’s best for him to sign overseas somewhere. Once you go overseas to Europe or where ever, it’s very rare to have a shot at the NBA at that point.

Haliburton on any draft board confuses the hell out of me. Love the kid, but come on...Can't create his own offense yet and is extremely passive. Those are things that will only come with more experience. He goes pro this year, he won't get off an NBA bench for the first 2 years, if he even makes a roster.

Very happy that Burton is the exception to that but it's usually true.

Considering that the NBA likes to draft on potential, that widens the pool for those 60 draft spots. I think THT has a solid shot after next year if he develops well, but this year seems very premature. Shayok to me seems like he has the most potential to help an NBA team within the next year or two and would be nice pick in the 2nd round, but with the whole ageism thing, who knows if he'll even get drafted.

Wigginton is a strange case because of the slight statistical decline from last year, even when normalized at 40 minutes per game. He was given draft scouting feedback last year and I am guessing they were wanting to see more, not less. I could see him not getting enough interest based on that alone and execs not taking into account some factors that may have slowed him down (injury, less minutes per game - seems like he needs lots of minutes and volume to get going, not only option on offense with Shayok being all-conference level, etc).

The author of this article, Jeremy Woo, has always been very high on Haliburton. I don't think most NBA front offices actually think TH is worth a late 1st round pick. THT, on the other had, I could see that.

THT continues to be projected higher than I would personally draft him at this point. I think he has potential, I'm just not sure it's quite as unlimited as some think. He is certainly athletic and creative, but I don't see age or experience changing the fact that half the time that will result in 30 pts and half the time it'll end in 4 points - stats are funny that way. Creativity in basketball is often times just successful sloppiness and bad shots falling. He would need to find a way to get much more consistent in the shot selection and output to be competitive in the league. Not insurmountable, I just don't think those characteristics are natural to him.

Haliburton has higher potential, in my opinion. Yes he has a difficult time being too passive and hesitant, but those are nearly the defining attributes of inexperience and are correctible. He has a quick shot (when he does take it), a high release, and a great on-court vision that are very hard to teach. If he continues to become more of a scoring factor while maintaining the great court vision, he could have a good tenure as a 20+ minute 6th man.
