It means Nebraska won tonight and therefore they can’t announce it now.
Why not? Coaches firings are announced before their final game regularly.

I think we probably overstate the allure of playing for Fred that a kid might have. Sweet 16 when these kids were 12 and since lost a bunch of games with the Bulls.Fred has a Rolodex with the number of every gm in the league in it, remember?
Kids want to play where they think they have the best chance to play professionally. Fred is a lot more glamorous than Steve Prohm, even though Prohm has done miracles getting Nader are Burton contracts.
Dude, you dont belong on this site if you dont get why Cyclone fans are upset about Fred freekin Hoiberg coaching the ******* Huskers. Liking or disliking Prohm has nothing to do with it.
So that Fred can continue to recruit Foster and Lipsey without restrictions. Perhaps things have changed, but that used to be a benefit of waiting. Why not? Coaches firings are announced before their final game regularly.
My opinion on Nebraska basketball probably won't change at all. I just think people that think Fred owes it to ISU to not accept a job and do what he wants to do in his career are childish as hell. Are you a Fred fan or an Iowa State fan? In principle, being both isn’t much of an option. It’s not about Fred. It’s about Iowa State. And Nebraska. And desiring that Nebraska to not hinder ISU’s success in even the slightest regard. In that sense, nothing’s changed.
Pissed at Fred? No.
Hoping he fails so that Nebraska continues to be mediocre? Yes.
Viewing him more as a Tim Floyd than The Mayor? Yes.
What’s not to get?I guess I don’t get it. CFH has done a ton for Iowa State and we have a coach that just won his second conference tournament championship in 4 years. Nebraska will certainly raise their profile with Fred but the Iowa State program isn’t going to fall apart because CFH moves to Lincoln.
In what sense? Fred the person? Absolutely, he can do whatever. By all means. My opinion on Nebraska basketball probably won't change at all. I just think people that think Fred owes it to ISU to not accept a job and do what he wants to do in his career are childish as hell.
And ISU fans owe Fred even less, sorry. It’s not personal.Fred owes ISU nothing, sorry
Fred owes ISU nothing, sorry
And he was paid well to do it.He was an nba player and a coach that literally rebuilt the program. If you still feel he owes ISU anything it’s a you problem.
Nebraska’s top 3 players are SR’s so they lose a lot but I would bet money Fred will turn them around fast.
They’ll be in the tourney two years from now.
Except for the fast track he received to his coaching career. He used his stature at ISU to skip years of working his way through the ranks, so yeah, he may owe some things.
Maybe not take a third tier college basketball coaching deal?

So going to UNC will be best for his brand.....He’s grown up as an Iowa State fan and will most likely be a borderline 5 star
But that’s only if you’re doing it the “right way”It takes ten years to build a program in the b10. Empirical evidence out east.
