Man, today is a series of kicks in the nuts...

...add into that speculation about BF retiring.

Not that I think either basketball program is/would be in bad shape after these, and I am excited about the extension for Prohm and happy that David and Hakeem are going to be cashing their checks in the NFL, but lots of transitions going on right now.

Watching Lard leave and Fred/TJ go to hated enemies sucks.

Are we panicking or not?
Of course. Panicking is fun.

None of those are kicks to the stones.

I'm not going to downvote your post but I disagree. At this point you just don't know.

If THT is for sure gone and the staff knows it they can focus on grad transfers. If we land Clarence Nadolny he can probably replace Lindell rather easily. Or maybe we already have Lindell's replacement in Prentiss Nixon.
Wigginton improved, aside from not getting foul calls in some games (he would have fouled out Cam five times over against OSU).
He didn’t change, but he improved. I think Nixon can be a lesser version of that, but I don’t see a freshman in Nadolny easily replacing a junior version of Wigginton. If he goes, not all lost, but we’ll need to get better execution.

He isn't a very good rebounder. I think Conditt improves and him and Jacobson's other skills surpass Young's. Not only that but he had a really serious injury on his groin and is also having shoulder surgery.

I think there is a big opportunity for one of these guys to shine offensively next year. Right now, nobody respects ISU's interior post scoring game. When ISU sends the ball into the post, there is usually lots of empty space in the lane to maneuver. Jacobson can get himself into decent position in the lane, but he has trouble finishing against the bigger Big 12 posts. We didn't see too much of Conditt, and of course, Young was out.

If one of these guys can develop some strong post moves and finish those moves off (Like Lard was doing against the slower Wesson), there would be easy points for the taking, at least until teams start to adjust. And any adjustment would probably open things up a little for the perimeter guys.

I hope Cam is successful wherever he goes. I am guessing if he ends up on a team we play in the future, he will kick ass

Very disappointed. He got several chances, and he was pretty great the last game as a Cyclone. Wish he could stay and have more games like that. Oh well, we will be better than fine next year with what we have.

I don’t get how some of you think we just lose Niang... or even close...Lard had a good frosh year but this year was a train wreck...He didn’t progress his game one single bit and actually regressed...Lard had one great game..Ohio st...prob as more of a show for other coaches...He’s lazy and probably a locker room problem...time to go.

Lard should have averaged a lot more rebounds but worried so much about blocking every shot it put him out of position..he’s done this since his frosh year..He’s learned nothing.

Conditt, Solo, and Jacobsen will be more than adequate in the post. All 3 are proven players. We will not miss Lard one bit.

This is best for ISU & Lard. No more suspensions to screw up our lineup. I wish him well, but I have many concerns about his future. He needs to go JUCO or some place to play immediately. Can he stay out of trouble in the future if he has to sit out one year?
Our big men will be fine. Nixon will be better than Babb. Nixon & Haliburton will each average at least 12 points next year. That's 8 points per game better than our backcourt this year.
We will see what happens with the rest of the players, but I am optimistic.
