Took at least a .5 hour to go 100 yards and enter from nw corner of stadium. Felt like the Memphis bowl game. Probably should consider alternatives. I get it, there’s construction. There’s also record season ticket sales.

You can’t argue with anyone who says they want to go out at half. To think the concourses have been widened recently, imagine if that hadn’t happened.

Lastly the Hilton parking lot... still compares to an Afghanistan battlefield.
I thought nw was closed and that was why ne was so backed up.

Was it just me, or did the Jack seem really dead compared to the past couple of openers? Last year when the team ran out the place went absolutely nuts and this year was really nothing in comparison. Only time it actually got loud was on the sack in the first OT

11 o'clock games are hard to get psyched for.

Also, there wasnt much to get excited about.

Concessions on the east side were bad. Long long waits even at the beginning of 2nd quarter
West side wasn't any better. I went late third quarter hoping to avoid the halftime rush and the lines were all ridiculous. I know a lot of this is minor stuff but it's one of many very real reasons why staying home is just easier and easier and I wish Jamie would try to fix it at least a little bit

Totally agree. We left c4 at 1020 and got to our seats right as kickoff was happening. Was bummed not to be there in time to see full entrance. The fan entrance was a huge downer.

Also with increased expectations for the season, I think there was a sense of let’s just get this easy win turned wtf is going on.

Lots of great 8-10 yard runs but zero big plays. defensive 3rd downs on d we’re usually met with a scrambling qb 1st down conversion.

Uni game plan was superb and well executed. Isu game plan... well let’s just assume isu was being purposefully incompetent/vanilla to throw off future opponents. I wonder if that strategy has ever really even worked or if it’s even a real strategy.

Going to need a better home field crowd going forward.

It only took me 12 minutes once I got in line to get out of G7. I was at gate 2 27 minutes before kickoff and missed kickoff.

Went mid-second quarter and the west side was a mess of lines. Not sure how it can take 10-15 mins to get through a line when you are only serving walking tacos...

On parking, saw one stupid thing, that at least is simple to fix..but was causing major traffic back up.So, for the S lots coming in from the south:

-Mistake 1: They had no one at the entrance looking to make sure all entering had a pass (so there were some turning around further in).

-Mistake 2: While it only took a few minutes to come up from 30 on University, as soon as we entered the access road around the S lots we came to stop and it took at least 10 minutes to from S5 to S6! This also caused the traffic behind to back up and flow out onto University so know one could enter the lots.

Why was this happening was be because instead of being at the entrance to each S lot to pull the bottom off the parking pass, the ones staffing S6 were out in the middle of the access road checking every car before it could move on and creating a major traffic jam. Just let them pull into the lots, so others can swing around and problem solved. When we finally got up to those doing this, I mentioned they were causing major jams, just step back to the actual lot entrance..they looked back clueless and said its ok, we are almost full. Not the point, you will block it as long as you are out here.

By the way, this was 8:30, not early, but not delay time yet.

Because 20k people were like me, still stuck in the NW gate until 11:15!

I had family walk right in on the south side--no line.

I will remember that vs Iowa

Getting out from the west side is a disaster.
Getting in and out of the stadium was painfully slow. Concessions @ halftime were a disaster, multiple lines perpendicular to traffic flow. Difficult to stand in line or make way through stadium. Situation needs to be addressed.

Ultimately a lot of things seem to be running like we still have 45000 people coming to games when 60000 is the new normal. Some of that can be changed with increased staffing, other things like number of restrooms, concession stands, and concourse space are more expensive fixes (not even sure how you deal with the concourse thing)

We could also use some things to deconflict pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the lots. In the s lots they really need to do the bridge/tunnel project at s16th. Cars from the S-lots sat there not moving an inch for awhile because of the lack of that. They also need to add some sort of wide walking path on the outside of the road ringing the stadium so people don't have to walk in the roadway. For the north lots hopefully whenever they decide to make that not look like the surface of Mars they'll also redesign it to better separate pedestrian and vehicle traffic as well.

With any luck we will be there by Tuesday.

I ended up getting pushed to the C1 and C2 lots this year instead of my usual C4. I didn't think I was going to like it, but with that exit right onto Lincolnway out the back. I maybe had to wait 5 minutes to get out of the lot.

I entered on the NW side. I'm guessing we arrived in line at 10:35 or so and the line was long enough that we were at the north end of the Jacobson Building. For that amount of people, I thought it moved fairly quickly.

Getting out of G7 is worse because there was only 1 lane of cars exiting instead of 2 like in past years. I assume this is due to the intramural field construction and having to route all pedestrians down that same gravel driveway.

I also didn't realize that the city of Ames restriped S. 4th from two lanes in each direction down to one lane with a center turn line. That contributed to traffic backing up west from Duff nearly to HyVee.

I sat is SEZ for first time. Beautiful view of crossbar of goal post. Felt really disconnected from game. I dont get the attraction to it.

Let me count the ways, you can buy liquor and beer, faster and better selection of food, easier and quicker getting in and out of the bathroom, you actually have a real seat with a cupholder. On cold or wet games you can watch from the bar area instead of freezing your rear off, even if its for a few minutes, it makes a difference.

Its not perfect, but if I could afford it, that is where my 4 tickets would be for every game.
Our seats are right by the SEZ, we paid $1,460 for our four seats and the seat backs, those same seats in the SEZ would be around $4,500 with donation included. Great seats and amenities if you have the bucks.
