I hope this happens...great three hour commercial for ISU....probably cool stories locally, etc....but of course seeing Corso put on Cy's head and us winning would make it especially worthwhile.

ONLY concern....would there be "distractions" the days before with crew members needing to do filming/story line ideas, etc. Again, I trust CMC could manage it with his crew, but just a concern.

Doesn't seem to effect the schools that they showcase every other damn week.

UPDATE:: I checked back with my sources and its still a go. New development is they might not even be waiting on the Iowa vs. Rutgers game and will announce it at the end of the show this Saturday at about 10:59am

If Pollard had the only say in it then yes. ESPN is going to set up where they feel is the best spot. Yes Pollard can recommend a spot but he wont make the decision
I would be very surprised if they are less than a week and a half out and they haven't scouted out sites for the "finalist" host locations by this point. They probably have a pretty good idea where they are going to build their set in Syracuse and Ames both a couple of weeks out.

I’m curious what kind of stories they would throw in there about the college or rivalry. Usually Rinaldi has a touching story. Would think Celia’s story may be one

They know. Hell @JStanz51 even said on one of the podcasts that he knows where it is at but can't say. There is absolute 0 chance that it is on the intramural fields though. I think center drive with the lots and stadium in the background would be great but would enough people show up that early to make it look awesome?

First and foremost, Syracuse has to lose. No way they're skipping a Top 20 (where they also have never been) vs. #1 match-up (assuming Clemson beats A&M)

But, if they do......between Schemen and Hilton wouldn't be the best choice imo. You can barely see the stadium in the background with Center Dr elevation. I love Hilton as much as the next guy, but the Soviet era concrete perimeter would not be a great look and wouldn't do the campus justice on National TV. The birds eye views towards packed tailgating lots is probably what JP has in mind, but that's not likely going to happen for the first 8am-10am window, only at the show closing. If the game was an 11am start, then you have to have it near the stadium, but since it's 3:00 PM, the stadium proximity is less relevant.

Central Campus is the best option imo. Beautiful imagery. Free recruitment PR for the University in it's best possible setting. More marketing value for ISU probably baked into those 3 hours than any other form of medium combined. The facilities mgmt people can suck it up and should have little to no bearing in the decision. Grass will regrow, the opportunity to host gameday for a school and program like Iowa State is once in a lifetime.
