Central Campus is the best option imo. Beautiful imagery. Free recruitment PR for the University in it's best possible setting. More marketing value for ISU probably baked into those 3 hours than any other form of medium combined. The facilities mgmt people can suck it up and should have little to no bearing in the decision. Grass will regrow, the opportunity to host gameday for a school and program like Iowa State is once in a lifetime.
Do you really think this is true if Campbell sticks around? I certainly hope not. If they get great turnout - which they will - and Campbell has ISU in the CCG hunt and even occasionally in the hunt for the playoffs they will see coming to Ames as something that should be repeated when the time is right.

Sophistry. Do you even Gameday?
Not as much as most. I will watch occasionally but always come away disappointed. With 120 FBS game (give or take) every weekend there should be no shortage of material, but they seem to talk a couple of games to death and ignore just about everything else. Sure marquee match-ups should get more attention, but they overdo it in my estimation. Let's hear about some of the other conference contenders or some rivalry games.

It may very well happen again (and I certainly hope so), but I don't know what the future holds and nothing is guaranteed.

I do know that Iowa State is one of the few P5 programs that hasn't hosted to date though. Based on all the factors that mount against Iowa State, (terrible history/small state population/minimal instate talent/overshadowed by instate rival) the fact that we're having this discussion is truly something.

Next week is also a very unique CF weekend in that they're are hardly any intriguing Top 25 matchups. In most weekends, this matchup woudn't be a contender for Gameday.

Yes, to me obvious place has always been the grass area south of sheaman. Looking south, gives you a good view of the stadium and tailgating.

Or they could be where the other guy said and in a mud hole with a chain link fence around them and 5 kids who climbed the fence to get in.
Based upon an awful lot of opinions here, those 5 kids would be wearing Hawkeye attire.
