Well that sucks. I always was pulling for the oft injured guy when he was with the Yankees. Not sure I totally buy his explanation but as big dude I guess it is plausible and I like the guy so want to believe him. If I was a multi-million dollar a year employee subject to the kind of drug testing MLB does there is no way I take anything without having it cleared/reviewed etc.
Meanwhile as I am typing this I see a guy in a MLB dugout chugging a Red Bull.
Last night's game was fun. Odo pitched well but didn't get run support. Then Garv Sauce hits his second bomba of the night and the crowd got into it. Let's get another W today.
Crazy that the blood pressure drug Pineda was taking is also a masking drug. My dad was on it for years. He just said it made him have to pee a lot.
But these guys know (or should, anyway) what substances aren't legal.....if they get caught, it's tough to have a lot of sympathy. He would have been a real asset in the weeks to come.

Is tonight the night Berrios gets back on the horse again? I certainly hope so. The offense will be different without Kepler. I can only dream of seeing Rosario, Buxton, and Kepler in the outfield together.....at least for awhile.

If Berrios doesn't show me something in his last couple starts before October, especially with Pineada being a moron, my hopes and excitement for Playoff baseball will quickly diminish. It doesn't matter how many bats you have if you give up a crap ton of runs.
Well, they've given us a season to remember, but I think you can just about stick a fork in this team. They'll win the division which is something, but they are going to be limping into the playoffs where the Yankees will likely sweep them for 9000th time.
Just too many hits to take, Buxton's injury, the straw that breaks the camels back I believe. I still believe they should have worked harder to find another starter before the trade deadline.

I'm still waiting for Boomstick and Eddie to get their bats cranked up again. GarvSauce has been heroic the last couple weeks, but he shouldn't have to do it on his own. Plus it sounds like Kepler might be ready to return again.

You gotta be kidding. Buxton's the only 25 man roster guy likely to be missing from the post season roster. Twins have been fortunate most of the year to have avoided injuries. They have a few minor ones now but most of these guys are still day-to-day and come end of the month they will have everyone on their roster that they want other than Buxton. My thought line is always (1) be good (2) stay healthy, Twins have pretty much done that all summer. A few niggling injuries at the end of the season doesn't alter change #2.
I think five or six teams will beat the old record that was set only last year. And MLB says nothing has changed with the ball.

I'd be thrilled if I'm wrong, but Buxton is what stirs the drink in MN. Per The Athletic:
Buxton’s impact on the 2019 Twins was undeniable. The team is 62-25 in the 87 games he appeared in, just 27-30 in all others after Tuesday’s 5-0 win over the Nationals. They even won all five games this month in which he made brief cameos.
That is why I am upset with Buxton. Not because of his effort...but because of his decisions on the field. The plays he has hurt himself had no effects in the games - they were meaningless outs. He needs to play smarter...but until he figures that out he will continue to her the overall potential of the Twins. And to compete with the Yankee's of the world we need a healthy and smart Buxton.
Compare the Twins' situation with that of your Yanks - they have done a remarkable job despite an extreme number of IL injuries. Credit to their depth, and it's also refreshing to see Falvey and Levine continue to tinker with the roster even at this point in the season. LaMarre could prove a valuable pick-up.
The Pineda and Buxton hits (who knows about Max?) certainly didn't help the Twin's chances, but agree anything can happen.
The talking heads already have the Astros-Dodgers in the WS, but with the Twins power, they can beat the teams with payrolls $100 million more than them.
Yep. We have the ability to jump on pitchers and tax bullpens. Just need Berrios and Odo to bring their A-game.
